These past few days have not been very eventful as I've been avoiding going to the wooden dock. I would catch and release prey, catch and release repeatedly. I almost feel odd not having much of an appetite for anything. I sat on the sea floor looking up at the ocean above me wondering how the pink one was doing. I growled at myself angrily for having concerns for her again. Swam further in the depths of this ocean wanting to visit an old friend in hopes that maybe she can help me with my mild dilemma. Rouge is my only close friend that I visit a few times a year as she's a sea witch and is busy with her side jobs like making potions and other strange trinkets. I slipped into her cave looking at all her different jars, books and more trinkets all along the curved walls.

She gasped once she laid eyes on me, putting her hands together close to her face. She has large white ears with short white hair, tan arms and some pearlescent shells that cover her chest. Her bottom half is a dark purple with lots of tentacles similar to mine, she has some lingering on her back as well.

"Hello handsome!~ I am surprised you are seeing me soon? You came by here last month talking about that girl. How is that going for you?"

I sighed with annoyance in my voice.
"It's the usual I listen to her good rants and bad ones."

She smacks her pink lips making a soft clicking noise while swimming closer to me.
"Ugh, come on Shadow... aren't you bored of just listening to her every problems? Oh or maybe you enjoy hearing her voice? Have you seen her yet?"

"No, I do not grow tired of hearing her.. I cannot say anything back. Yes, I briefly saw her yesterday. She looks fine..."
He crossed my arms, having the same unamused body language.

Her face instantly lit up now, getting close to my face.
"YOU DID?! Is she pretty? Maybe you might fancy her.~"

I pressed my lips together before looking away.
"Yes she looks fine.. No, I do not fancy her. Amy is just a friend."

"There is no friendship there, she doesn't know you."

"Okay she is an acquaint-"

"Not even an acquaintance."

"No, not even an acquaintance..."
I snarled at her in frustration as she had a point.

She shook her head with a sigh.
"You are a moron sometimes hun."

"I am not! I.. I do not want to scare her off."

"Alright, that is fair so then when will you talk to her?"

"Probably never."

Rouge tapped her lips, having an amused expression on her face. She swam above me going through her shelves looking for something.
"Do you want to test something out for me sweetie? I gave a blue mermaid with long quills one of these vials to become half mortal. So far it seems to be working for him. Maybe you might be interested in trying it too? Who knows maybe it will work out for you too!~"

My ears perked up hearing about her testing something for her. I lifted my head to stare up at her frowning my eyebrows.
"The last time I tried something for you I was turned into a seahorse for a few days..."

"You turned back to normal did you not?! Don't be holding grudges!"

"You said try this vial for me it's supposed to make you glow.. it's for my other clients. it did not make me glow.."

"Okay big baby I know sometimes my potions don't work but as I said!! It's been working well for the other fellow."
She swims behind me still searching for something. I turned around towards her. If it does work I would be able to talk to her without worrying about my actual appearance. But would this really be a good idea? I started overthinking again at all the different outcomes, the pro, the cons. I cleared my throat trying to not seem interested.
