The mood was just right when it came to a hangout between four friends—some bickering, bursts of laughter, and teasing here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary. This was simply how it had always been.
You'd know them since high school.
Shoko—the carefree one, always with a cigarette balanced between her slender fingers, the person everyone came to for advice, though she never sugarcoated it.
Suguru—equally as composed, but with a quiet charisma that set him apart. You'd always did like that about him.
And then there was Satoru—the loud, egotistical one the three of you tolerated, because at the end of the day, he was still one of you.

"I am not drunk," Shoko slurred, her words dragged out as her flushed cheeks betrayed her. The beer in her glass swayed dangerously as she lifted it for yet another sip. She always pushed her limits with alcohol—but tonight maybe she had gone a little too far.
Suguru exhaled softly, though the faint curve of a smile lingered on his lips. "I'll take her home," he said smoothly, already moving to help Shoko to her feet. "You two behave yourselves until I get back."
You rose as well, steadying the door open for them. With a small wave, you watched as Suguru guided Shoko carefully out of your dining room and toward the night air. Once they disappeared, you closed the door, turning the lock with a quiet click.
You settled back into your seat at the dining room table beside Satoru, a comfortable silence settling between the two of you. It didn't last long—Satoru filling it with his usual teasing.
"Just us now, hm?" Satoru murmured, leaning in close, that playful smirk to at you'd come to recognize tugging at his lips.
You laughed softly, giving his shoulder a shove and forcing him back into his chair. "Just us," you replied, your tone carrying the unspoken meaning: Just us, and nothing more.
You knew Satoru had a thing for you, but it was hard to tell how far those feelings went—he was impossible to read and he was never pushy. Still, anyone could see it written all over him.
"Oh, come on," he groaned, though the smirk returned almost instantly, like he'd already though of a comeback. "You're no fun, Y/N."
You arched a brow at him, tilting your head slightly. He was clearly trying to provoke you, and with the alcohol buzzing in your veins, you were more than willing to take the bait. "Is that so? Or maybe you can't just accept the fact that you're easy to resist."
Satoru's smirk only widened at your retort. He leaned in closer, invading your space with that familiar confidence. "Want to test that theory?"
He didn't wait for your response—he could already read it in your eyes.
His hand lifted, thumb and index finger catching your chin as he guided your face closer to his. His gaze flicked down to your lips, then back up, his expression practically daring you to cave under those piercing, blue eyes.
You knew exactly what he was doing, and on any other night, you wouldn't have let him get this close. But tonight... the alcohol had loosened your guard.
Without another thought, he yanked your face closer, crashing his lips against yours. The fingers gripping your chin tightened before sliding up to cup your face, his touch firm and insistent as he dragged you deeper into the kiss—like he wasn't giving you a choice.
It caught you off guard—you hadn't really expected him to go through with it. But this was Satoru. Of course he would. He always did whatever he wanted.
You kissed him back, your hand sliding up his neck, fingers threading through his soft white strands. He didn't slow down for a second, keeping that same urgent pace, like he'd been waiting a thousand years for this moment—and now that he had it, he couldn't get enough.
In his mind, he'd already won—already gotten exactly what he wanted. What he didn't realize is that your eyes had never truly been set on him. Not then. Not now.
They had always belonged to someone else.
And this... this is just the start.
