Kendall threw on her clothes her teeth chattering from shock and cold. Her usually warm, and cozy bedroom now seemed so unfamiliar and menacing. She had to get out of here , the walls were closing in on her, and even her own reflection in the full length mirror seemed sinister, her eye's wild and unfocused , she was scared to look at herself too long for fear of what might appear behind her in her reflection. She pulled on her white tennis shoes, not bothering with socks, snatched up her cell phone and cigarettes and dashed out of the room.
She crept along the landing, the plush, thick carpet cushioning any noise she would have made as she reached the top of the stairs. The light outside was fading fast, and thick inky shadows elongated and twisted the simplest silhouette into a menacing phantom. She stared at her feet, avoiding looking at the murk, convinced something would leap out and grab her with spindly, clawed hands that pierced her skin. Listening intently , she set foot on the first step, as Alex's low gravelly voice floated up to her. She hissed with anger.
" Dammit why was he still here?" She thought to herself.
She heard her sisters voice, intertwined with Alex's masculine one, as she recognized they must be talking about her. Keen as she was to hear what they were saying, she was keener to slip out the front door unnoticed, She was becoming more uneasy the longer she stood there in the dimly lit landing of the house, feeling all the while that eye's bored into her back, and every second that passed something evil was creeping closer, and closer to her feet ready to snatch her ankle as she lifted it to begin her descent down the stairs. The feeling won out over her to desire to listen in, and with her breath held, and heartbeat thundering in her ears, she bolted down the stairs as lightly as she possibly could, raced across the hallway like a gazelle , flung open the front door and flew down the front steps, allowing the door to slam behind her shattering the unnerving stillness of the house.
She ran along the gritty pavement as though a hellion snapped at her heels, subconsciously taking the route to Gabby's house.

Kendall
Friday.
With hindsight I probably should have gone to Neve's, I sighed to myself. However, I was still unsure whether or not she would be her normal self, or I would get there to find her sacrificing a goat on her homemade demon worshiping alter or something. Gabby was hardly the most sensible friend in a crisis. I mean, she had believed me and everything that wasn't the problem, if I had told her aliens had kidnapped me , she would have suggested we ring up radar online to sell my story, you know? She just goes with the flow no matter how bizarre. For helping with the fact that a demon from the pits of hell had possessed my boyfriend, and may or may not be trying to kill me? Not so much! At the very least, I had been able to tell someone what had happened, hear the words out loud, and start coming to terms with what I was facing.
Mom, and dad would be out until late tonight at one of dad's business dinners, and Morgan would stay at Dean's house, and probably be there most of the weekend, as it was closer to the library for when she needed to study. Why anyone would want to study on the weekend, is beyond me, but hey, if that's what she wants to do I guess. The feeling of foreboding crept up my spine, as the realization sank in that I would be alone in the house. Normally Alex and I would relish the alone time, but suddenly spending any time alone with him was not on top of my list of fun weekend activities.
I stubbed out my third cigarette, mashing it violently into the ashtray , and grabbed my laptop. The demon had made it clear I had conjured him by using the ouija board, maybe I can find a way to...to...I don't know? Send it back? What's going to happen to Alex? Will it release him if I can get rid of it? Is it inside him all the time? Is it hopping from him to Neve? If I get rid of it, will everything go back to normal? So many questions, I had no idea how to answer? I pressed my fingers to my temples, rubbing them in little circles, desperately trying to relieve the pressure building inside my head.
