the first official assignment of the class! we all had to write a "why i write" poem, and then we took our favorite line/reason and we're putting them all onto a shirt (i hope it turns out cute lol)
(also thought i should mention that my poetry is all free form- if you were expecting rhymes this is NOT the place for you because i'm not doing allat LMFAO)

I write because
reading gives me
the only true joy there is.
I write because
it's my first instinct
and all l've ever known to do.
I write to inflate
my ego one moment,
so large it presses against the roof,
and puncture it the next,
without a warning
because the thrill is more effective that way.
I write so the words
don't escape my mind
and taunt my dreams.
I write for myself,
the little girl I used to be,
and the girl I wish to become.
