Third Pov
Some might say—how can one be so comfortable, even intimate, with death?
Well, it does come in handy when you are part of a family that loves nothing more than death, decay, and the exquisite beauty of gloom.
In the Addams family mansion, their eldest child, Y/n Addams, was stretched across a velvet chair in his room, leisurely reading through transcripts about the Black Plague. Not far from him sat his spirit guide, Elias Thorne-Frump, draped elegantly across an old armchair as though he had never left the Victorian era.
Y/n sighed contentedly as he closed the book, the corners of his black-painted lips curling into a satisfied smile.
"Oh, how it warms my heart to read about the Black Plague—their screams, their agony, their endless suffering. Such a beautiful tragedy," the 23-year-old murmured.
Elias chuckled, tapping his silver-tipped cane against the floor. "Yes, yes, I remember the first time I contracted the plague myself. Delightful experience—one of my fondest memories. I highly recommend it, my dear boy."
Y/n rose from his chair, placing the transcript carefully on the nightstand. His silver earrings glinted faintly in the candlelight as he tapped his chin thoughtfully.
"I wonder what I should do next..." he muttered.
"You could," Elias drawled, a sly smirk tugging at his lips, "pay a visit to those older children who bullied Pugsley. He won't tell you about it, but I've seen it weighing on him."
A wicked grin spread across Y/n's face.
"Now that... sounds absolutely delightful."
With Elias drifting close behind, Y/n made his way to Pugsley's room. He pushed open the door and stepped inside, his dark gaze sweeping over the clutter.
"Now... let's see if you can find the object that will show you the vision," Elias whispered, peering over Y/n's shoulder like a conspiratorial shadow.
Y/n hummed softly as his eyes scanned the mess. "Mhm. It can't be anything too recent—the incident was about a week and a half ago."
After a moment, he spotted it: a torn scrap of fabric stuffed beneath Pugsley's bed.
"Found it."
The moment his fingers brushed the cloth, Y/n's head snapped back violently. His vision swam with images—Pugsley shoved to the ground by sneering older boys, his backpack ripped open, his shirt torn, and finally... dangling from a tree branch by his collar while they laughed.
Y/n blinked back into the present and handed the cloth to Elias with a dark smile.
"Now I know who to target."
Unbeknownst to him, Morticia had been watching silently from the doorway.
"You always were protective of your brother and sister," she said with her signature smile. "Well... after you tried numerous times to kill them when they were infants, that is."
Y/n turned to her with a proud grin. "I had to assert dominance as the eldest sibling, did I not?"
Morticia's eyes glowed with pride. "And now you seek vengeance for your dear brother. Oh, it feels like only yesterday you tamed your first lion at two... and grew your first carnivorous plant at three. Such cruel, beautiful times."
"Yes, but you were the one who taught me how to do both, Mother," Y/n replied warmly.
Morticia placed a hand to her chest, visibly moved. "And I could not be prouder. But I won't keep you from your fun any longer. Would you like a cookie before you go? Lurch and I just finished a fresh batch."
