With giggles and stolen glances, they made their way to the mandap.
The priest began to chant the mantras, and Saanvi's eyes shimmered with tears. This moment - sacred and eternal - was finally here.
But while the wedding rituals were underway, Aadhya was on a mission.
Her eyes were locked on Eshaan's shoes - protected tightly by Reyansh and Inaya.
Aadhya, ever the schemer, walked up to Inaya and said innocently,
"Yaar tumhe wo aunty bula rahi hai, kuch kaam hai unhe..."
Inaya nodded and left the spot.
"Chalo ek peheredar to gayi, ab dusre ki baari," she thought with a victorious smile.
Turning to Reyansh, she added with urgency,
"Oye, wo catering ka kaam dekho jakar, shayad kuch gadbad ho gayi hai..."
Reyansh, sensing some trouble, quickly headed in that direction.
With the coast clear, Aadhya slipped off her own footwear and wore Eshaan's shoes herself, planting her feet firmly as if to say: "Ab toh koi nahi le sakta!"
When Reyansh and Inaya returned, they were stunned - the shoes were gone.
They turned to see Aadhya grinning, her feet proudly in Eshaan's juttis.
Back at the mandap, the priest called,
"Dulhan ke maang mein sindoor bhariye."
Eshaan took the vermillion and gently filled her hairline. Saanvi closed her eyes, feeling the weight of the moment... but a little of the sindoor fell on her nose.
Shobha, watching from the side, smiled warmly and said,
"Lagta hai Eshaan bohot pyaar karega Saanvi ko."
Next, Eshaan tied the mangalsutra around her neck - his hands steady, her heart fluttering.
Then came the kanyadaan.
"Kanyadaan ke liye dulhan ke pita aage aaiye," the priest called.
Tears pricked at Saanvi's eyes - her father wasn't there. Her lips trembled...
But then Advay stepped forward, voice strong and gentle.
"Pandit ji, mai dulhan ka bhai hu. Kya mai kar sakta hoon?"
The priest nodded with a smile.
Tears streamed down Saanvi's cheeks as Advay completed the ritual, his hands trembling but heart full.
And then came the seven vows.
Eshaan and Saanvi walked around the sacred fire, step by step, vow by vow, soul by soul - binding themselves into forever.
The wedding was complete.
They bowed before their elders, touching feet, receiving blessings. But of course, it wasn't over yet.
Aadhya returned with mischief gleaming in her eyes.
"Chaliye jiju, ab aap 50 hajar nikaliye tabhi joote denge!"
"Heinnnnn kitneyyyyyyyy?" Reyansh shouted dramatically.
"50 hajar... bina poonch wale bandar!" Aadhya shot back, hands on hips.
Everyone burst out laughing.
"1 lakh lelijiye - Saanvi bhabhi ke sath-sath apko bhi bhabhi bana lete hai," Inaya said slyly, giving Reyansh a wicked smirk.
"Is bandar se shadi karne se acha hai me jindagi bhar single rahu!" Aadhya bubbled defiantly.
In response, Eshaan pulled out a bundle of ₹500 notes with a grin.
"Nahi jiju, hum majak kar rahe the, hume nahi chahiye... bas aap humari Saanvi ko khush rakhiyega," Aadhya said softly, tears in her eyes.
Eshaan placed his hand gently on her head, voice tender,
"Pagal ladki... ye shagun hai mere taraf se. Aur baat rahi apke Saanvi ki - to jaan se zyada pyari hai ye humare liye."
