In the very corner it reads - Fierce. Brave. Enigmatic.
I wonder who he is drawing here?
Any past lover? His ex-fiancé?
"How's it?" A gasp erupted out of my mouth as I swiftly turned backwards, the sketch fell from my hand and I looked at the man in question, his hands in his pockets as he displayed a small mischievous smile at me.
Ye Lamhe, Lamhe Ye Resham Se
Kho Jaayein...Kho Naa Jaayein Hum Se
Kaafilaa, Waqt Ka Rok Le..
Ab Dil Se Judaa Na Hon..
Fuck me. What the hell was I doing looking through his stuff? He can go fuck himself for all I care, it shouldn't matter to me.
I quickly picked up the sketch book and placed it on the table top, composing myself and turning towards him, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to pry in your belongings."
His brows crinkled and his smile widened. Please, don't ask me anymore questions, I'm mortified as it is.
Teri Galiyaan, Galiyaan Teri Galiyaan
Mujh Ko Bhaavein Galiyaan Teri Galliyaan
Teri Galiyan.. Galiyan Teri, Galiyan..
Yoon Hi Tadpaavein, Galliyan Teri, Galliyaan
"It's fine." He spoke out, his focus distorted because his highness got pretty busy humming to the song. His lips curved to a soft smile as the crescent of the brown of his eyes crinkled like tiny beads under the light.
I released a breath I didn't know I was holding for a while by now and a thought crossed my mind when I saw the untouched plate of sandwiches, "Did you eat?"
He shook his head as no. "I'll reheat the food then." He nodded and went upstairs while I did my work.
Thirty minutes later we were again sitting in front of each other in the dining with the addition of a stack of files kept on the side table. Kai now wide awake sat on Mr. Artist's lap and licked his knuckles. It's only now that I saw the little bruises on his knuckles.
"Your billa changes parties pretty soon." He remarked chuckling and brushing Kai's sheer black coat as he mewled at the attention. On any other day I would've been fuming with rage if my dear cat got any near this man, but now, I can't anymore. After all, if it wasn't for him Kai would've lost a lot of blood and I...
I wouldn't have been able to do anything.
Just like I couldn't do anything for mom.
"Great to see you two bonding." I rolled my eyes at his remark and picked up the files kept on the table.
"What are these?"
"Ledgers of the company." He replied with nonchalance and I spared him a glance.
"You are aware that the revenue department seized all the ledgers, documents, receipts etc. aren't you? How is this-" I flipped the pages while he spoke further, cutting me off from mid.
"These are the ledgers we need to look into out of all the bundle of documents the revenue department seized." He pointed towards the files.
"And how did you find them?" I cocked a brow at him.
"A copy of these was kept in my father's safe. I stole it." He feigned nonchalance as if robbery is his everyday work. Nice try, partner.
"The mighty junior Arora with an ex- diamond spoon steals too?" I scoffed, only for him to chuckle as if I'm kidding here.
"You can be funny sometimes, you know."
"I'm not here to entertain you." I deadpanned and that was enough of a signal for him to be serious.
