Chapter Twenty-One

Start from the beginning

Conrad gets up from his seat and gives Cerise a peck on the lips.
"Good luck today." She says to Conrad fondly, but genuinely and gently at the same time.
"Thank you." He responds back to her, reciprocating her soft tone.

He now concludes that he's fallen hard for her.
He can't bring himself to walk outside the door when his eyes are so glued to hers, and he's doing everything in his power not to kiss her again and get distracted from all of his priorities.
But she is his priority.
Conrad, no!
Think that again, and you're going to lose your self-control right no-

Conrad loses his self-control and leans in to kiss Cerise one more time. But instead of it being a little peck like the first time, this one lasts longer. His hands resting on the side of her cheeks, his lips lingered there for so long that his life had become history in the blink of an eye. He finds his kiss returned brilliantly by his lover, which he doesn't stop her from doing, even if it takes his time.

But much to his disappointment, Cerise steps away from him even though he would have liked to stand there beside her a little longer and kiss her some more if his life depended on it. On her.
"You've got a class to go to." Cerise reminded him. But the reminder itself was so soft, she was blushing madly like a maniac from the moment they shared earlier.
However, he knows she's right. "I do." He said. But he's not moving yet and still looking right at Cerise with his twinkling blue-green eyes.
"Mhm." She agreed with him.

Another. He wanted another. He needed another.

Conrad pulls her back for another kiss, which is hungrier than the last two times he did it.
But it was short-lived because Nori interrupted the two of them hastily, "Boy, you're making me feel lonely, and you've got places to be. Get your ass outta here. Said with love." She pokes fun at him, to which Conrad matches the energy with a mock offense tone, "Ow. But thanks, actually. If I ended up doing more-"
"I do not want to know what you'd end up doing!" Nori shuddered, pretending to be disgusted at knowing the details of what Conrad and Cerise probably like to do when they're alone. "Get out!"

And just like that, a goofy-smiling Conrad was out the door.

CERISE

"You're crazy." She commented to her best friend when her boyfriend was finally out the door. Since Cerise and Conrad made it official, she'd become more aware of his class schedule, like he'd become more aware of her work schedule, so they could find ways to spend time together. While she did love their over-the-phone movie nights, Conrad and Cerise both craved seeing each other in person and getting to kiss each other. "You guys are crazy." Nori corrected. "Based on what I just witnessed, I don't think it'll be long before he falls in love with you." She indicated.

Cerise has a crazy blush blasting upon her cheeks, "It's a little early for falling in love, isn't it?" She smiled. As much as she loved the idea of that, she wanted to be realistic about it. They were only two weeks into this new relationship, and they still had so much about each other they had to learn. Also, Cerise was genuinely happy where they were right now.
"Falling in love doesn't have a timer, Cerise. I would know..." Nori says out loud before trailing off and then stopping herself. Her black eyes land on the ground as she takes in what she just said. Cerise doesn't have to ask to know who her best friend's talking about. But knowing Nori, she would rather use her dry humor as a substitute for talking about her feelings to Cerise right now.

So instead, Cerise says, "I guess you're right."

But the truth is, she wouldn't mind at all if her best friend opened up more about what was going on in her mind. Their friendship didn't start because only Cerise talked about herself. She actually has to thank Nori for being an extrovert; otherwise, they never would have made friends that day.
