A million years ago, there was only a void—no signs of life. It is said this emptiness came into existence when the Goddess of Healing, Akessira, failed to heal her own heart after losing her sacred pair. Murthamis, the God of Rot, her great father, is the one who had slain her betrothed. He believed that Vaelorin, the God of War, loved his daughter not for who she was—but only for her divine gift of healing.
"Vaelorin's only using you as a tool to patch the wounds his battles leave behind." Murthamis said with absolute certainty.
"Great father, you are mistaken. His only desire is to marry me and let our souls be bound beyond time." the goddess replied with serene grace.
"You shall not share eternity with him!" the birds fled the sky in fear at the boom of his voice.
"Great father..."
Murthamis stood with a mournful weight. "Osarion, the time has come. Bring my daughter to Gildora."
"I beg you...don't caste me away!" Akessira fell to her knees and pleaded. "If you imprison me, the world will bleed."
"It burdens me not," the God of Rot muttered like decaying wind.
Six hundred days had passed since Murthamis and Akessira last spoke. The God of Rot, showing rare kindness to his daughter, freed her after being held in the palace of Gildora where doors didn't exist. But his mercy came with a heavy price.
"In a short span of time, you have come to reckon with your deeds. As your great father, I extend to you an offering." he motioned for the Warden to bring it forth.
"It's inside the ebon casket."
"I am not worthy of such a gift. Let it return to your hands." the goddess declined, thinking it was a test—for the god's freed her too soon.
"If your heart holds love for me still, then accept my offer. It is yours by right."
That day, the Goddess of Healing vomited endlessly. What she saw inside the ebon casket made her sick.
It was the heart of Vaelorin.
The God of War had been tricked by her great father. Murthamis told him that Akessira perished as she spent the last spark of her divinity trying to bring back her mother's a thousand years corpse, but fate didn't answer. He said her daughter's last wish was to be buried beside Vaelorin—just like he once promised her.
Believing the lie, her betrothed gave Murthamis his flame sword, Bloodvein, and asked to be stabbed through the heart. He said it was an honor to die at the hands of the father of the goddess he loved most.
"It was you, you never loved anyone. That's why you're wicked."
That were the last words the God of Rot heard from his daughter before she disappeared.
In despair, Akessira spent a hundred years in hope to find the God of Nothingness, Erun. The goddess wanted to surrender her power, in return of a place where she can rest alongside Vaelorin.
One sunday, after a thousand years had passed. The god finally showed up in her sanctum's doorstep.
Erun agreed to create a void where the Goddess of Healing sealed her divine gift in a potion bottle.
“Keep it. When the time comes, you’ll know what to do.” she said to the god, her voice soothed the atmosphere.
But the God of Nothingness didn't desire to use her gift. He said he only made the void as a grace bestowed upon the dying Akessira.
Even the Goddess of Healing cannot heal her wounded heart, as for the person she treasured the most was the one who brought her the pain.
As her final breath faded, a single tear fell. She was holding Vaelorin's heart.
"For eternity, we are bound." Akessira vowed with a smile on her face.
"And that's how the heartblossom tree existed. That's why we're here." the fairy godmother, Lavina, placed the scroll back inside the jar after finishing the story.
"But how did the faeries co-exist with the seadbearers?" the young girl asked innocently.
Lavina gave her a withering stare. "That's a different story, dearie."
"If you say so," she shrugged.
"Now, let's bow our heads and give a moment to show gratitude to the gods and godesses. Shall we?"
The seadbearers followed the godmother's words and bowed infront of the Heartblossom Tree. In unison, they whispered the sacred vow of Flowercrest. It was said to be their of way of praying and remembering the sacrifices made by the God of War, Vaelorin, and the Goddess of Healing, Akessira.
