How To Hide
By: S. Key., B., S. C., Autumn

Our days,
So long.
Our years,
So short.

No one wishes to believe something unheard,
But then, the spoken word scares them.
Our years are not long enough for the stupidity.

How can we function in this madness?
Instead, we hide.

At school,
The teacher approaches.
I must hide.

In my room,
I hear the footsteps.
I must hide.

No where can we be free.
From others.
They must know everything, they think.

While that seems nice,
They do not realize the worth of free will.
For if we knew all,
And every action to take,
Where's the fun in that? - Sorry, that was SC.

Life would have less meaning than it does.
If not, then none.

So we hide.
Hiding gives us safety, reassurance.
That hiding keeps us alive.
It is our survival technique.

Like an animal,
We hide.
We'll do anything to live.

Live with a meaning.
Even if we must hide as we research,
Learn,
Cry,
Die on the inside.

But at least we'll hide

Together.

Together.

Together.

Together.

Here's the story behind this:

SK starts writing a poem, but forgets the paper in class. Bargain Book sees this and takes the paper to see what's on it. She reads it at home, adding onto it. The next day, she intends to give back, but on her way into the building, the wind slips the paper out of her hand, allowing SC to catch it with his. Later at lunch, Autumn points out the differences in the limb-writing, which gives SC the idea to write on it. Autumn, not wanting to disrespect his friend's writing, apologizes beside it instead. After throwing out his trash, he slips the paper, subtly, to SK before sitting back down for the remainder of lunch. SK reads the additions to her paper, intrigued. That day, she purposefully leaves her paper on her desk. Bargain' takes the bait, adding again, to the poem. However, since she had made her additions at school this time, she slips the paper into SC's lazily open backpack. He only notices the next day during art class, where he shows Autumn and adds a few of his own words. Instead of apologizing this time, Autumn writes under SC's messy print.

Finally, the three meet in a study hall that day. SK has been slipped the paper like last time and has read the poem, and has made her marks.

She silently passes the paper to Bargain', who adds a word before passing it to SC.

The light of childishness left the young object's mind as he wrote down the simple word. Autumn looked at him with maybe worry? fear?... in his eyes before he accepted the paper.

After he was finished, he passed the paper to SK one final time.

She cleared her throat.

"H-how To Hide, a poem by... us..
"Our days, so long.
"Our years, so short.
"No one wishes to believe something unheard, but then, the spoken word scares them.
"Our years are not long enough for the stupidity.
"How can we function in this madness?
"Instead, we hide.
"At school, the teacher approaches. I must hide.
"In my room, I hear the footsteps. I must hide.
"No where can we be free. . ."

". . . from others. . ." Bargain' continued, and after her, so did everyone else. Some's eyes glistening and wet.

The End. :D
