I woke to the smell of rain on earth.
The streets were cracked, grass spilling through like nature was stitching itself back together.
No cars. No honking. No human voices.
Buildings still stood, but the city was hollowed out—windows broken, vines crawling like veins up every wall. Birds nested in places where advertisements used to hang.
For a second, I thought it was a dream.
Then I saw them.
People.
But not like before.
They wandered aimlessly, their faces empty, like their minds had been wiped clean.
I ran to a man in a faded shirt.
"Sir! Do you know what's happening?"
His blank eyes blinked at me. No recognition. No memory.
And then I understood.
The world had rebooted.
Most people were... erased. A few remained, but stripped of everything.
And somehow—I wasn't one of them. My memories, my self, were still intact.
My name is Amihan Cruz, and I remember everything.
The silence was heavy but strange and holy.
The rivers were clear. Fish darted under the surface, unbothered. Trees bloomed wildly.
As I wandered further, I froze.
Above me, wings spread wide: a Philippine eagle. Majestic. Alive.
Species that were almost extinct before were thriving now.
The sight made my throat tighten.
Maybe this was the Earth's way of healing.
But the longer I stayed, the more I noticed something else—eyes watching from the shadows. Not all survivors were harmless.
