every time you're near,
the world slows down
and my heart beats louder than city sounds.
i've memorized the way you laugh,
the way you move,
still too scared that i could lose you.
i'm living in the spaces between words i say
hoping that you'll feel it
even in my quiet way.
the feelings are there, the words still caught in my chest
fear, still steals the rest.
if i said it out loud would you stay?
would you feel the same or start to drift away?
if you only knew
how you light up my sky,
you're the reason that i smile and that i try.
holding back these words that're starting to break through
oh...
if you only knew.
