Spikiulu blinked as he read a book, where it talked about royal families of each claw, and their similarities.
Seafins had markings on their backs that glowed in the night, and had the esca's bulb of an angelfish, Fireithans had a candle near their tail and a large antenna resembling fire, And royal whiskins — weren't a thing, He pointed his flipper to the words he was reading, until Motherspine came, holding her flipper over Spikiulu, before whispering "I heard we're going to the deep sea and claim more territory and finally invade the Fireithans and get our territory back for once!", Spikiulu's mouth opened wide as his pet hammerhead shark, Hammerhead, swam around him, before covering his mouth with his flipper.
"REALLY?!" He said out loud, his eyes full of surprise and excitement with his thoughts being about if they would discover a new claw, and maybe make an alliance with them, "We would have to dive deep, wouldn't we?!" Spikiulu asked, before Motherspine replied, "Yes! The trip is already starting, we're waiting for you!"
They closed their fins to trap heat, before then, going with the rest, Cthulhu, their father, Kraken, their mother. Clamspine, their bigger sister, Exotic, the smallest brother of the family, Tide, the youngest sister, Swine , and their grandfather holding all the wise knowledge some smart whiskins could ever give — Waver, They opened the lights that glimmered around their bodies, and then dived deep. A large tooth would cut some of Tide's skin, "AAAAH!"he screamed as an Arcanum grabbed him.
Spikiulu seemed out of sight but they did not care, they did not see, hear, taste, or smell Spikiulu, they can't smell, but there was no young, dark navy figure swimming nearby, they didn't notice it.
Until Spikiulu got kidnapped.
Everyone was confused where he is, loudly roaring out his name, only getting a low mumble in return, only to realize, they were a gang of Arcanums who were stealing inch by inch parts of the family one by one, they had recovered for many years.. and gotten larger; in the claws, size is important, minions of Arcanum usually weren't from the Seafin royal family, but the evil gang and 'organisation' was willing to change that, and Spikiulu might be one of the minions made to serve evil.
Spikiulu had to do it, and he needed to do it, once he was lost of the grip of the Arcanum, will he dart away, closing the lights around his body, never to be seen again, and back to his family. Everything in Spikiulu's mind was smothered with these thoughts, Can he escape? Can he survive? Can he see the rumoured sassy side of the gang? Until Danger stopped grabbing Spikiulu, where he turned his light off, and darted away, into the deep, it might be a small win but Danger started chasing him, no matter where he went, and he knew their only weakness, Arcanum can have their eyes hurt by directly looking at the sun, Spikiulu knew a trick, if he would move towards the sun, as if he was trying to reach it, he could get away, but he was deep and the Arcanum easily could see him, and he had no choice, but to keep swimming towards the deep, until he found a hole the Arcanum can't fit through. He finally found it, the twilight zone, he was experiencing pressure as if a leviathan was scratching their claws on a chalkboard, hurting his ears, and he saw a kelp forest he easily could hide in, but Arcanum use touch when they can't find something, not sight, and his only option was to hide in it, he hid in it, and moved around until he saw a hole where Danger couldn't fit in.
It was his chance, to escape, and finally go back to his family, but Arcanums were hungry for the Seafins and every time they lost one, they would continue looking and make it harder to escape, and if it was a royal it was worse, and Spikiulu had to take the risk. He ran into the hole, he couldn't fit very well and struggled to escape, It was worth it, no matter what, I've got the treasured prize of finally no longer having to deal with this. he thought, as he finally managed to get out of the tunnel, before swimming up, covering himself with a whale corpse.
