Giving Up Part Two

Start from the beginning

I'm walking the long road
Watching the sky fall
The lace in your dress tangles my neck.
How do I live?

The Death of a bachelor, oh oh oh
Letting the water fall
The death of a bachelor, oh oh oh
Seems so fitting for
Happy ever after
How could I ask for more?

I arrived at the center of the woods. Got here quicker than I thought. I stopped the music and kept my mp3 and my headphones. "Dipper?" I call, looking around. The shack boy was out of sight.

"Great, I was stood up. Expected." I sighed. Why am I giving him a chance? Again? I'm so predictable.

As I was about to leave when the familiar boy's voice called me. " (Your Name)?"

I turned around. "Oh, hey." I said, irritated.

Dipper looked exactly the same as everyday. Except, he had a box in his hand, which I chose to ignore.

Probably another mystery thing. He always put those before anything else.

"I... I didn't know-I didn't think you'd bother coming."

I rolled my eyes. "Well I'm here, Pine tree. What do you want?" I say, raising a brow.

"I-I want... you."

My heart still sped up, yet why am I not surprised?

"Listen here," I started. "You had nine years. Nine years. Now that I'm... you can't just... ugh! Stop it, okay? You had no right telling me you ever had feelings for me! I was doing... I was doing great without you! "

"But I'm not doing great without you!" He said.

"Well that's... not my problem." Anymore. "I'm sorry, Pines, but... I have a life to live. I've moved on. So should you."

I left him in the dust.

"Well, what am I supposed to do? Leave Max? Yeah, no." I say to Mabel as she tried to convince me once more.

"But, (Your Name)... " she whined.

"Mabel!" I scolded. I blew up. I've had enough. I turned to face her, slight tears forming in her eyes. I've never yelled at her like that. I saw the fear creeping into her eyes.

She looked down. "Max... He's... really worth it, isn't he?"

I sighed.

"Look, I'm going to go and hang with him now, so... Bye, for now."

I left to head downstairs where we sat together. We watched how calm yet mysterious the Forrest looked. He told me many things. Childhood stories, experiences, but I was too absorbed in my thoughts to listen.

"Max... He's... really worth it. Isn't he?" Her words echoed in my head. Was he? I mean, yeah, I deserve to be happy, but am I happy with him? Why have I been making such a big deal about him? I mean, Max is great. Amazing, even. But... this is Dipper we're talking about. He's not perfect, but I love him anyways.

Love?

No, (Your Name). You've had your closure. You need to get over him.

But... what if... What if I don't want to get over him. What if... I want to be with him? I can't possibly still like him, right?

"(Your name)? (Your Name)?" His voice knocked me out of my thoughts like bus.

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

You know what? Sometimes, logic has to lose.

"Max... I'm... I'm sorry."

"No, it's fine. The story wasn't all that good, anyways."

"No, I mean... I'm sorry."

I suddenly left and headed back in the shack. I ran up the stairs into the attic. A familiar brune was talking with his sister.

"Mabel... she didn't look in the box..." he said, staring at his feet.

"What do you mean?"

"I froze. I didn't tell her."

What? Tell me what?

"The... plan." She said.

I peeked inside, noticing a few shiny papers. I couldn't make out what they said. I leaned in a bit closer to try and get a better look before I accidentally pushed the door. Shoot.

The door slowly swung open, an awkward creaking sound following. "(Your Name)!" Dipper said in surprise, suddenly hiding the papers behind him. "What-What are you doing here?"

I felt confusion slowly creep up my face. "What's that?" I ask, pointing towards Dipper. "Behind your back, what is it?"

"N-Nothing!" I felt my face melt into a frown.

"I heard what you guys said." I say. "What is it? Dipper, don't chicken out this time. What is it?"

He let out a sigh, pulling them out. They had no writing. But they were incredibly shiny. Almost like silver. "It's an emotion reader. Well, that's what I call 'em."

I raised a brow. "And what do they have to do with me?"

"I'll leave you guys alone," Mabel winked, slipping out of the room.

Another sigh escaped Dipper's lips. "The color they turn into reflects the feelings of the holder towards the person in the reflection." He held it up to my face.

"Each color determines an emotion. Purple is envy, yellow means neutral, green is the purest form of friendship and..."

Suddenly the paper turned pink. Slowly and slowly. Until the pinkish hue slowly turned red. "Red means love..." He whispered.

I felt my cheeks redden. I stepped closer. "Dipper..."

I hugged him. Tightly. He smelled of pine cones and rain. "Dip... I love you, too... And I'm not gonna stop. No, not ever. Not again."

Author's Note

Howdy, folks!

Boring, eh? Well at least it's out.

I take requests and stuff, and if you want me to make an OC for you, I do everything except names. I can describe your hair, eyes, etc. but I won't put a name. If I did, it wouldn't exactly be 'XReader' anymore, would it?

Anyways, bug out!
