Thunder rumbles faintly in the distance. Rain slicks the dark windows of a cozy two-story home. Inside, everything is still too still.
CLOSE ON - A FRIDGE MAGNET: "LOVE NEVER FAILS"
Suddenly
FLASHING RED AND BLUE LIGHTS flood through the windows.
INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Police radios crackle softly. The living room is clean, but tense. A CRIME SCENE BARRIER is up across the hallway entrance. UNIFORMED OFFICERS stand silent. One of them swallows hard.
INT. BEDROOM NIGHT
A woman lies sprawled on the floor, lifeless. Her body is twisted in an unnatural position. Her eyes are open. The sheets on the bed are blood-soaked and dragged.
Something is written along her veins - faint, almost tattooed by blood. Symbols. Not English. Not quite human. They follow her vein lines like twisted calligraphy.
CRIME SCENE PHOTOGRAPHER
(softly, stunned)
Jesus Christ...
He clicks a photo. FLASH.
More symbols stretch across her upper chest, following the arteries like a road map. A dark red pentagram is smeared faintly on the wall behind her - almost invisible unless you're looking for it.
INT. HALLWAY - SAME
A man stands outside the room. Late 40s. Rigid. Trembling. Plainclothes. A DETECTIVE'S BADGE dangles from his belt.
This is DETECTIVE taehyung.
His knuckles are white from gripping the crime scene tape.
UNIFORMED COP
I'm sorry, Detective... we didn't know it was your house.
taehyung doesn't speak. Just stares through the opening.
FLASHBACK
- His wife LAUGHS in the same bedroom, wearing a red sweater.
- She pulls him into bed. They kiss.
- FLASH: Blood. Screaming. A glimpse of a masked figure.
taehyung breathes hard. A sharp inhale, almost a choke.
He slowly walks in.
The camera pans behind him... then stops at her hand.
