When Adrian Thomas moves back to her hometown she is forced to confront everything from her past. Past relationships, friends...
I began this book on December 31, 2016 at 13 years old. I know it seems odd to rehash old stories but I wanted to go back and kind of revisit my writing (it's horrible btw), and kind of remake it as a now 22 year old.
Before revisions this was a story about high schoolers who have to figure out life. When revisiting my work I figured why not make them college students. It fit everything way better than me writing them as high schools just because I was going to be a freshman that next year. College just made more sense.
Sorry for the rambling, anyways, I want to dedicate this revision to those who read this prior in all of its horrific glory. Enjoy the upgrade.
1) Homophobia While this story does feature homophobic ideologies I will not tolerate such in the comments just as I would not tolerate such if my characters were real people.
2) Weaponizing Sexuality Some are open about their sexuality and some are not in this book you will see that. With that said I don't want to see any slut shaming or like I've said prior homophobic comments please!
3) Bullying The previous version of this book was deeply rooted in bullying as the main source of plot. I believe when I first wrote this there was a heavy no bullying hashtag so a lot of my books featured those things.
4) Mental Health With me beginning to rewrite this story in September (Suicide Prevention Month) I thought it was fitting to keep this aspect of the story. I personally struggle with mental health issues and sometimes reading something I can relate to in certain aspects helps me feel seen. If the story is too heavy or is something that resonates too deeply with you please don't force yourself to finish this book. I will definitely understand if you decide to not continue on.
