Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part II

[Immora: The First City in All of Creation]

"Have you nothing to say to your creator before you strike him down?" Davoth's voice was hoarse, wavering with pain as he knelt like a wounded beast.

The Doom Slayer stood motionless, memories flooding his mind in an unstoppable tide. The faces of those he had loved and lost flashed before him—phantoms carved into eternity by Davoth's endless thirst for dominion.

His wife...

His son...

His fallen Argenta brothers, slaughtered by betrayal...

And even Daisy.

The pain was ageless, etched into his very being. The memory of Daisy's death lingered, raw as an open wound, feeding the inferno within his chest.

With a growl that shook the very air, the Slayer lunged forward. The Doomblade gleamed like judgment itself as it plunged into Davoth's chest.

Metal met flesh with a sickening crunch.

The dark lord gasped, eyes wide with disbelief. The Slayer leaned in close, his rage burning hotter than the hellfire Davoth had once commanded. Every ounce of hatred glimmered in his gaze, a silent testimony to eons of suffering.

Davoth's question echoed in the Slayer's mind. He considered it for a fleeting moment, then spoke a single, resolute word.

"No."

With a savage twist, he wrenched the blade free. Blood poured from Davoth's chest as the life sphere of the once-mighty dark lord rose above them, shimmering red before detonating in a fiery explosion.

Across countless dimensions, hellish creatures writhed and disintegrated into ash. The torment they had inflicted for eons was finally over. Silence reigned where chaos had once thrived.

The Slayer, unchained and relentless, had fulfilled his greatest mission. But triumph never came without a price.

As the flames died, a strange weakness crept over him. His vision blurred, and his knees buckled. With Davoth gone, the ancient power that had once coursed through the Slayer now faded.

He collapsed to the ground.

A voice, deep and commanding, echoed through the fading light.

"By his hands, all things were made—including you."

It was Vega, the being once called The Father. The Slayer's world darkened as consciousness slipped from his grasp. In the distance, golden Maykyr figures descended, lifting him with solemn reverence. They carried him back to the coffin he had once escaped, sealing him within its ancient walls. The lid closed with a final, resonant thud.

But fate was not finished with the Doom Slayer.

[Unknown Void]

Awareness returned in a flash. The Doom Slayer floated weightlessly in a vast, black void—a place devoid of form or meaning. No Immora, no demons, only endless nothingness.

He tensed, muscles coiled as his eyes scanned the abyss for threats.

A sudden blaze of blue light pierced the darkness. From within it emerged a spectral figure clad in regal armor—King Novik, the fallen ruler of Argent D'Nur.

"Doom Slayer," Novik's voice boomed like a celestial drumbeat. "You have vanquished the Dark Lord and ended Hell's reign. No longer will they consume and destroy as they once did. Your battle here is over."

The Slayer tilted his head, uncertain. There was a weight behind Novik's words, a hint that something remained unfinished.

"However," Novik continued, "there is another accursed realm. A place where innocent souls are trapped in endless mazes of madness. They suffer without hope, preyed upon by unspeakable horrors.

"Will you rise again to save them? Will you make those who dwell in shadows taste the bite of your blade?"

The Slayer's expression hardened. He crossed his arms, considering. His war with Hell was over, but his purpose had never been limited to vengeance alone.

Saving the innocent—that was reason enough.

He met Novik's gaze and gave a single, firm nod. To emphasize his resolve, he slammed his fist into his open palm.

Novik's spectral face softened in approval. "Very well. Then go forth, Doom Slayer. Do what must be done."

The void trembled as ancient power surged around him.

The Slayer's lips curled into a savage grin. His heart thrummed with anticipation.

"Rip and tear... until it is done."

In a blinding flash, he was gone.

And in the cursed labyrinth of the Backrooms, the monsters would soon know fear. For the only thing they would ever fear—was him.

Locations - Backrooms

The Backrooms is an alternate reality set apart from other known universes in the multiverse. It is made up of sub-dimensions known as 'Levels'. Entrance into the Backrooms entails stepping into a darkened wall or slipping through a crack in reality.

Many of the levels that make up the backrooms appear to be infinite or extremely large in size, with a only a few select levels being a moderate or small size. Further more each level appears to posses a varrying degree of difficulty regarding travel, ranging from little to no danger to moderate or extremely dangerous, physcialy, mentally, or both.

Despite what seems to be millions or even billions of people trapped within the backrooms, only a few have ever escaped...
