*Oneshot #1*

You ran like your life depended on it. Because, well, it did.

You were caught in the middle of a war between the borders of your country and one of it's neighbours. Then you remembered him.

H/n H/l/n.

He had shifted countries when you both finished high school. You both had embarked on the journey to become a soldier. You had personally thought that he would fight alongside you, shoulder to shoulder.

However, that wasn't the case here. He was set to kill you and your crew.

Running through the forest, you tripped on a branch, grazing your knee, which started bleeding badly. Even though the red stained the rocks below, you just winced and stayed silent as you ripped a bit of cloth from your army cargos, wrapping it around the wound.

All of a sudden, you heard the rustling of leaves nearby. The problem was, you were the only one that was supposed to be on duty at this specific part of the border. You stealthily crouched behind a tree, the dark sky shielding you from view.

You peeked out, wondering who it could be. There was no one there. You let out a breath. Just before you could call for help on your walkie talkie, a hand clamped over your mouth, throwing away all your weapons and forms of communication into the stream beside you.

"Hey. Long time no see, huh?" A deep voice said that you unmistakeably recognised as H/n's. Your tense shoulders relaxed a bit, he wouldn't hurt you. You were friends. Atleast that was what you were before he left. You didn't know what you were now. Frenemies?

"Tsk tsk. You chose to remain on the wrong country." He said, pulling out his rifle. Your heart lurched into your throat, however you maintained your calm demeanor, something you had gotten used to while being in the army.

"You're going to pull that trigger sooner or later, so do it now, Captain h/l/n." You said, staring into his eyes, the colour of which you didn't want to admit you missed all these years.

H/n raised his eyebrow, the way he used to when he didn't understand a joke, letting out a low chuckle.

"Since when did you start calling me Captain h/l/n, y/n?" He asked.

Since you fucked off to (neighbouring country), you wanted to say, but you held yourself back, choosing to stay silent instead.

"As for your question," he continued, sensing your silence. "I followed you to make up for the years we lost." He said, smirking as he pulled you to your feet, leading you to some relief shed, locking the door behind him as you two entered.
