Haneun stretched her arms out as she waked down the street to the bus stop. It had been a few days since her last visit to the university campus, but confidently, she was coming back. Today was her first day, attending as a student.
Smiling, she lugged her two suitcases along and watched for the bus. It was a nice sunny day and Haneun closed her eyes and felt the wind brush past her face and blow her long brown hair back off of her shoulders.
"Haneun! Next time, you should wait for everyone else!" A voice yelled from behind her. She turned around to see her best friend, Song Mino, rolling a suitcase.
"Oppa!" Haneun grinned. "I didn't think you would come to see me off."
Mino rolled his eyes as his younger sister, Danah, walked around him. "I didn't come here for you." He flicked Haneun's forehead. "I came to see my dongsaeng off."
Danah playfully glared at her older brother as she grabbed her suitcase. "Don't do that to her."
The bus pulled up from around the corner and the three boarded together in high spirits. They talked amongst each other as they made their way to the university. Once they had arrived, a familiar face was already there to meet them.
"Unnie!" Haneun got off the bus with her bags. She placed them down and hugged her older twin sister. It looked as if the twin hadn't seen her other half in forever, although it had only been a day.
Mino got off with Danah and smiled. "Haneol. Long time no see." Haneol moved away from her sister and bowed slightly.
"Where's the dorms?" Danah asked impatiently.
"All the way to the left." Haneol motioned for them to follow her to the dormitory building. It was a huge building that was split down the middle. From one side, a group of boys ran out laughing amongst each other. On the other side, girls entered.
Haneun looked at everything in awe. "So this is the music major dorm? It's so full of life."
"It is." Danah watched the group of boys walk off with a grin. The group moved into the building and went to the second floor where Danah and Haneun were staying together.
After getting settled, Mino left to go home and Haneol had gone back to her own dorm across campus as she was not a part of the music majors.
"What do you want to do?" Haneun looked over at Danah. The girl, however, didn't hear her as she was already on the phone.
"Seungyoon-oppa!" Danah left the room with a skip in her step.
Haneun sighed, knowing her best friend well enough that when she would start talking to Seungyoon, everything else would be oblivious. Getting up from her bed, she grabbed her cell phone and headed out to explore the campus.
People from all different cities and districts roamed around as today was moving day. Haneun avoided bags and boxes as she made herself familiar with different buildings. She couldn't believe she was finally a college freshman, pursuing her dream.
"Hey! Watch out!"
Haneun blinked and glanced over to see a basketball hurdling her way. She screamed and ducked down, covering her head with her hands. The ball landed next to her foot, lightly touching the side of her red converse. When she finally opened her eyes, someone quickly grabbed the ball and proceeded to walk away.
"You look okay."
"Ya, hyung!" Another body walked over, but he was a little taller and had black hair. "Did you even ask if she was okay before making presumptions?"
"The ball barely touched her." The answer was curt. The dongsaeng, as Haneun thought of it, walked over as she stood up, brushing off her dark jeans. She was actually quite glad, admist the confusion, that her white t-shirt hadn't gotten dirty.
"Jwesonghamnida." The dongsaeng bowed slightly. "Gwenchana?"
Haneun nodded and bowed out of not knowing what to do in the situation. "Ah, y-yes. Thank you."
"What is your name?" The male in front of her smiled. "Je ireum-eun Jung Hoseok imnida, but you can call me J-Hope."
"A-Ah, Byon Haneun imnida."
"That's pretty."
J-Hope turned and walked off, following his hyung who seemed disinterested in the conversation. Haneun watched them go before continuing on with her wandering.
"Excuse me, officer, sir..." Haneun walked over to one of the security personnel. who was helping people around. "Do you know where the dorms are for the technology department?"
"Go down this path and look to the left. It's the building with the satellite dish out front."
Bowing, Haneun thanked him before leaving. She found the building and walked inside. There were plenty of people moving in here so the woman wove in and out of the hallways. Receiving more help, she finally found the room she was looking for and knocked. The door opened and Haneun stood face to face with her twin sister.
"Ah, dongsaeng, you found me." Haneol smirked and opened the door wider, allowing her sister to come in.
"How does your roommate live with you? You're so messy." Haneun scrunched up her nose as she pushed clothes aside on the bed so she could sit. There were clothes, balled sheets of paper, and trash all over the floor. "Unnie, you just got here yesterday!"
"They haven't arrived, but never mind that." Haneol picked up a lollipop from the basket on the desk that also housed her double monitor computer and laptop. "Listen to this." She wiggled the mouse on the desk computer until the monitors turned back on, then plugged her laptop into the main computer while pulling up a window.
A beat started to play, one Haneun had never heard before. Haneol started to play with the controls and fixed part of the beat to her liking before opening another window. She looked to her sister before starting to rap, reading off the lyrics she'd typed in her notebook. The rap was about being open to new experiences - her own personal story.
Haneun closed her eyes and nodded along to the beat and her sister's words before she started to adlib and freestyle some lyrics. When it was over, Haneon grinned and saved the second window before closing it.
"Recording complete."
Haneun giggled, rolling her eyes as she was used to this. She and her sister loved to make simple songs and music together. Haneol would compose and rap while she would let her younger twin sister handle the vocals and help with beats.
"So I'm thinking of performing in Hongdae tonight." Haneol closed her laptop and looked at her little sister. "I think you should come too and perform with me."
"Perform where?"
"You have the radio. I'll make the cd and we can perform on the street, or maybe even on a stage."
Haneun thought about it for a moment. Their mother had warned them Hongdae was a dangerous place at night, but now they were adults and could make their own decisions.
"Sounds fun." Haneun nodded in decision with her sister. She hung out in the room, cleaning up a little before leaving the dormitory for her own. When she walked out the door to the building, she heard the faint sound of a melody. She wasn't sure if anyone else had heard it, but she knew her ears weren't deceiving her.
As it was starting to become sundown, Haneun walked towards the North side of campus into the campus park. The melody got louder and Haneun crept closer until she could see the sound producer from behind a tree. It actually became clearer to sound like the American hip hop Haneol really loved, Haneun thought.
"Who are you?"
