The city was quiet, cars driving by, birds chirping in the sky. A soft ding on a door rang through the silent street. Two pairs of feet entered through the door, the wind bell singing softly, their eyes darting at every direction. A waitress walked up to them, greeting and showing a table to sit.

One with chocolate brown hair and tired, grey eyes, wearing a thick coat, even though the sun was shining warmly through the large windows. The other, her blonde-ginger hair tied up in a ponytail, bright green eyes behind a pair of shades.

The man leaned across the small table. "Where is he," he hissed, not holding back the hint of impatience.

"Well, I'm certain he's somewhere here." She whispered back, her eyes still searching the café side to side. Then her eyes caught someone a few tables away.

There he was. Surveying the quiet room over the rim of his cup, his pinkie sticking out. Avery half rose from her seat, before her teammate grabbed her arm, forcing her to sit.

"Not here, where everyone will see, we'll be on the media and that's the police's job. We are to work behind the camera."

She gritted her teeth. It was so annoying. She wanted action, revenge for what he had done to her life.

Avery sat back, arms crossed. The waitress arrived, setting the drinks. Her friend knew her favourite – Macha tea. Still grumbling, she took a sip, the grassy delicious flavour sliding down her throat. She glanced at the man, who was once her most hated colleague. They had met during the latest meeting, where Avery expressed her anger on the newly introduced villain, and they were partnered together – unluckily. It turned out the guy named Daniel was a total nuisance, complaining about everything she did; Avery couldn't stand it.

Suddenly, their target got up, and left. Avery quickly drained the last bit of her tea, then dragged her partner along, as they followed the man, who was heading straight for the city's most dangerous area – Lowland Suburbs. Suddenly, the man froze in his tracks, turning almost immediately. Avery pushed Daniel into an alleyway in time, as he turned to look around, then disappeared through the metal gate
