Sadly staying at Peters wasn't an option, especially when Stella was stood at the front door with a timid smile on her face, telling Coby that the 'iron fucker' wasn't happy. Coby just rolled his eyes, wishing his boyfriend and his aunt goodbye before slowly following after the girl out to the road, he was just grateful that he got to spend two days with Peter. His withdrawal symptoms had mostly passed, only the rare moment where his muscles would ache and his whole body would begin sweating once again, but he was getting better. Physically, of course.
Peter had distracted him enough to not see Ruby again but Coby was unsure of how long his newly found freedom would last. But for now, she was gone and Coby could finally breathe with ease. Coby stood at the apartment entrance, just staring at the car parked outside, unable to make his body move. Stella stood next to him, staring up at him with a confused look.
"Coby..?" She mumbled out and Coby finally blinked, looking down at her, "What's wrong-"
"..wha' if he's pissed? Like really pissed? Wha' if he like fuckin' screams at me or shit?" Coby quickly muttered out, tone panicked and the shake in his hand visible.
"Coby, Tony wouldn't do that.." Stella whispered in a soft tone, "He's not gonna shout or hurt you.. he'd here to help." Coby furrowed his brows slightly at her words as if they were the strangest things he'd ever heard in his life.
"But.. but I left without his permission.. I ignored him.. I pissed 'im off.." Coby almost stuttered out, "I deserve to be.. punished." Stella stared at the boy for a moment before a breath tumbled out of her once she realised where his confusion and anxiety had came from. Tony hadn't told anyone at the compound anything about Coby, nothing about where he had came from, what he had done, why Tony had him or anything about Coby's home life- but Coby's fears proved what Stella had been thinking but praying wasn't true.
"Punished? I was the one that snuck you out.. And Tony knows that you needed your boyfriend, he'd just glad you went to him and to not get shit faced." Stella smiled, "However you were raised, that's gone now. The compounds safe, Tony's safe." She reassured and Coby let out a shaky breath, not out of relief but almost simply out of dread. He had been preparing himself for the pain Tony would inflict on him but now there wasn't going to be any? Could Coby accept that? Coby knew he couldn't.
"Oh." He simply whispered, biting his lip before slowly walking over to the car.
"Feeling better, kid?" Tony asked as both Coby and Stella climbed into the back of the car. Coby didn't reply for a moment, he just stared down at his feet like a child that was in trouble. Tony squinted his eyes at him, biting down on his lip as he took in Coby's timid demeanour.
"..uh-huh.. 'm good." Coby mumbled out, nervously messing around with his fingers. Tony eyed him for a moment before he let out a small sigh, scratching the back of his neck.
"How's the spider kid?" Tony then asked and Coby's brows furrowed in confusion.
"Who? Spider kid? The fuck ya on about?" Coby muttered, finally staring up at him, connecting his gaze with Tony's nervous one. Tony let out a small chuckle, trying to quickly change the subject before he exposed Peter Parkers huge secret.
