Eight divine beings. That is how many overlords ruled the angelic realm before the war with purgatory just before my birth. The eighth had perished in the most gruesome way. He was nothing more than a nurse for the war, his divine power giving him great natural healing abilities. All of that power to do good, just to be struck down by his own bow and arrow...

I never knew my parents. It's funny in a way, how even in what mortals consider "heaven" and "a paradise", parents still abandon their children. I always stuck out like a sore thumb among the other angelic children. Instead of the usual two wings coming from the shoulder blades, I had multiple sets. Two sets coming from my head, a set coming from my shoulder blades, and a set coming from my waist.

I recently turned 15 in my group home that I lived in. Well, to the mortals I had turned 15. In the angelic realm, I was really 1500 years old. Angel children are surprisingly similar to the mortal youth, well, except for the sins. I do quite enjoy watching the mortal children my age when I sneak down to earth.

This morning, I was awoken, quite abruptly may I add, by one of my fellow parentless peers. It was a girl a few hundred years older than me named Honey.

"Atsuki!? Are you awake yet!?" She spoke in her loud voice while patting the fluffy white hair on my head.

My sleepy blue eyes slowly blink open. "Huh?... What do you want?..."

"The first divine being is coming to our self defense class today!" Honey was practically pulling my hair out of my head in her little fit of excitement at this point.

"Ow... You're pulling my hair. That hurts. Also, why would I care that the first divine being is coming? I'll probably just sleep through that class again anyway" I sit upright.

She scoffed, "You need to stop sleeping through our classes!! Maybe you should stop going down to the human world at night, then maybe you wouldn't be so exhausted all the time, dummy!"

"Just let me go back to sleep, Honey."

She rips my soft silk blanket off. "GET UP!"

I gasp. "HEY!! Give those back! It's freezing!" I hold myself a little in an attempt to cover my exposed stomach.

"Don't be such a baby, Atsuki. It's not that bad!"

I grumble, reluctantly climbing out of my bed. "Fine... Just leave me alone, okay?"

"Fiiine." She walks out. I sigh and rub my eyes a bit. Today was going to be a very long day, wasn't it?

I put on my slippers and walk into my personal bathroom. Why did they have to use the coldest marble tiles in the world on all the floors? Seriously, some angels have sensitive feet, people!!

I lift my arms up to stretch, the soft white wings on my head unfurling a bit more as I do so. I look at myself in the mirror. My skin was so pale it was almost reflective. I really do need to spend more time in the sun. I pick up my pastel blue toothbrush and put my mint toothpaste on it, brushing my teeth quickly before washing my face. My skin care routine was tedious, but an angel's skin should always be as soft as the finest silk.
