Replaceable

I know how replaceable I am,
A shadow behind the light you see—
Not as stunning as the girls who glow
In person, or through your scrolling spree.

I know how replaceable I am,
My heart, perhaps, not gold enough.
I falter where others shine with grace,
And loving me might just be tough.

I know one day you'll find someone
Whose smile outshines the dawn anew,
And in her laugh, her touch, her gaze,
You might forget the "me" you knew.

But still I pray, and still I hope,
That day won't come, or take you far—
For all this love I hold for you
Burns steady like a midnight star.

So if you leave, or if you stay,
Just keep a piece of what we were—
A whisper soft, a quiet name,
That once was mine, now just a blur.

But if I linger in your mind,
As something sweet, not just a phase—
Then know my love was never small,
Though I feared being replaced, always.
