Chapter 28: Speed Limit

“I can’t believe this, Pottie.  Nagdadate ba talaga tayo ngayon? Na tayong dalawa lang?  Parang nananaginip ako.” Kath remarked.

“Eto ang dahilan kung bakit binili ko si Dodge... para sa mga moments na ganito. Astig diba?” DJ responded.

Kath nodded.

A few minutes later, DJ’s car parked in front of a posh dessert cafe.  He assisted Kath as she went out of his car.

“Private room please” DJ said formally to the waitress who was momentarily shocked when they entered the cafe.

“This way po.” The waitress said respectfully.

After the waitress took their orders, Kath glanced at DJ.  “Maiba ako, Pottie.  May problema ba si Sed?”

“Bakit mo naman nasabi yan?”

“Wala lang... para kasing nagmumura siya sa Twitter last time.”

“Ha?”

Kath took out her phone and searched for Seth’s tweet. 

“Eto oh.” Kath said showing her phone screen to DJ.

“Bi Yu El El es eytch ay ti..” DJ read aloud.

“Bullshit.” Kath explained.

DJ stared at her and laughed.  “Wow... Interpreter ka na rin pala ni Sed.  Haha.  Wag mo na isipin yan... Nagpapapansin lang yan sa fans.  Normal lang sa kanya magmura.  Yan ang ikinabubuhay ni Sed.”

“Ang labo mo talaga ka-usap.” Kath complained.

“Haha.. Wala lang yan kasi, Ba.  Kung may problema si Seth, ako ang unang-una makaka-alam. Wala yang tinatago sa akin.” DJ said seriously.

Kath shrugged her shoulders. “Okay.”

DJ stared at her seriously.  “Staring contest na lang tayo ulit.”

“Game!” Kath said bravely.

Both of them stared at each other sweetly for a few seconds.  DJ leaned his elbows on the table and moved his face closer.  Kath also dared herself and moved her face closer.  DJ grinned wickedly.  Then, he further moved his face and pouted for a kiss.  Kath immediately blocked his lips with her hands.

“Ahem... ahem.. talo na ako... Okay, pag-usapan natin yung birthday mo.” she said aloud while leaning back on her chair.

DJ frowned at her.  Then, he shrugged his shoulders.  “Wala pa akong plano.  May suggestion ka?”

“Ano ba gusto mong gawin sa araw na iyon?” Kath asked curiously.

“Gusto ko magSubic ulit.... na hindi kasama si Tita Min.”

“.........”

“Loko lang.” DJ said laughing.

“Seryoso na.”

“Gusto ko magSubic talaga pero hindi ko alam kung pwede sa schedules natin.”

Kath thought deeply.  “Eh, Pottie. Ano ang gusto mong gift galing sa akin?  Yung bass ba talaga?”

DJ thought for a moment.  Suddenly, the waitress entered the room with their orders.

“Thank you.”  Kath said respectfully.

DJ nodded to the waitress.  When the waitress left the room, both of them started eating while resuming their conversation.

“Actually, Ba... walang halong showbiz to na sagot... okay lang sa akin.  Ang ibig kong sabihin, okay lang ako kahit walang gift.  Masaya na ako.” DJ remarked.
