"W-Well... actually... (Y/N) I think you're kinda cute..." he said, blushing hard.
Your heart skipped a beat. 'What?' You thought.
"I know you like Dipper. I understand. I just needed it off of my chest for now."
Wait—Dipper... You did like Dipper. But then... why did your heart skip a beat? I mean, Dipper's been your crush since you knew him... But, he never did give anything back, did he?
Your thoughts started to debate.
Max has always been so kind... giving me so much attention. He... really cares, doesn't he?
"Actually, Max..."

Dipper
A few days passed. (Y/N) didn't come with us to go monster hunting that often anymore. She usually stayed back to help Max out. Soon, she just stopped. Stopped hanging out with us as often.
We usually saw her for lunch or night, or doing random stuff with Mabel, but the rest of the day, she was with Max.
"(Y/N)'s been hanging out with Max a lot, hasn't she?" I said, staring at them through a window in our room as Mabel was reading the newest Teen-Pop for Teens Daily Magazine.
"Of course, why wouldn't they?" Mabel asked.
"Well, why would they?"
Mabel looked at me from her magazine. "Wait—you haven't heard?"
"Heard... what?"
"They're dating! I mean, Max had a crush on her for forever. "
"Wait—They're what?!"
I ran down to the porch where they were on the bench, talking or pointing at things as her head laid on his shoulder.
"(Y/N), can I talk to you?' I ask.
"Hmm? Sure, Dipper." She lost her stutter...
She walked in, gesturing him to stay outside. "What's up?" She talked a lot more... informal. She's different.
"You're dating him?" I whisper-yell.
"Well, yeah..." she replied non-chalantly.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Well... I didnt think you'd care so much... "
"You can't date a guy you just met... He could be dangerous! He-He-"
"I didnt just meet him. I met him three weeks ago. Besides, why do you care all of a sudden?"
Why did I care?
"I... I don't know..." I replied, my head hanging.
"Exactly. Not even your business, see? Anyways, I'll get back to my break. See you. "
Why did I care so much?
Then, as she looked at Max, something was different. Instead of the smile she used to force, it was actually sweet. Her muscles relaxed, her eye never twitched, her gorgeous (Hair color) colored locks bounced gracefully, she genuinely seemed... well, sweet. So... happy. So... beautiful.
And that's when I realized why. Why I had cared so much.
"(Y/N), wait!" I grabbed her wrist. She looked at Max and gestured for him to wait just a minute longer.
"Yes?" She raised a brow as we went back inside.
All the memories came rushing back. Her formality, her forced-smile, her politeness. Even all the times Mabel told me (Your Name) liked me, though I thought it was a joke.
"(Y/N), I... I think I love you..."
She looked at me in anger, confusion, disbelief. Smack! My cheek burnt. She'd... slapped me.
"Too late, Dipper Pines. Nine years too late. Besides, I'd rather spend time with someone who would free time to be with me. Not someone who would be with me during their free time."
With that she headed back out. I was too shocked to say a thing.
