I opened my eyes and was immediately blinded by bright white lights shining down on me. There was ringing in my ears making everything around me sound muffled. I heard faint voices coming from the left of me. I went to sit up, but was immediately hit with a sharp pain in my head. I huffed in annoyance. 'If I can't sit up, how am I supposed to know where I am?' I turned to my left, there was a nightstand with an alarm clock and lamp on it. From this I concluded I wasn't in a hospital. I don't know where I could be though. I don't know anyone in this city that would take me somewhere if I was hurt. 'Unless I was kidnapped.' with that thought slipping into my mind I forced myself to sit up past the pain. The room was rather large, but there were no signs it was someone I knew. I ripped all the wires off of me, then jumped out of the bed. Just as I was about to make a break for it through the closest door to me. A young woman with black hair and freckles walked in. her eyes widened and her mouth fell agape.

"Oh my god, you're awake you're actually awake," she practically screamed, causing the pain in my head to get worse.

"Can you shut the fuck up," I snapped back. I didn't mean to sound rude, but the way her voice sounded while she was screaming made the pain almost unbearable. She froze and stared at me as if no one had ever told her that before. I stormed past her and out into a lavish hallway. There were a couple people standing in the hallway looking towards the room I stormed out of. The girl came running after me as I continued to walk away from the room.

"Wait, you can't leave this room," she yelled after me. When she finally caught up to me and grabbed my arm which triggered a response. Within a split second I had her pinned to the ground, the arm she touched me with twisted behind her back.

"Get the fuck off me," the girl wailed, causing everyone to look in my direction. I used my other hand to reach for my gun only to realize I didn't have it, in fact I wasn't wearing any of the clothes I was when I left my house. I heard someone yell the words 'boss,' and looked up, which I regret doing. There was a group of people surrounding us; each of them holding a gun in my direction. A thin man who looked identical to the woman I was holding down came rushing through the crowd in a panic.

"What the hell is going on," he screamed, staring down at me. Everyone around was yelling trying to get me to let her go. Some tried to ask nicely and others threatened to shoot me.

"EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Everybody went quite quickly including the girl under me. The man who had just run in slightly stepped forward. He motioned to the others with his hand, and everyone lowered their guns.

"Listen, let her go and we can go back to the office and talk," he voiced in a calm voice. Though I could tell he was anything but calm. I released her and stood letting her stand up. She sighed in relief, then turned towards me. I watched her body posture and the way her lips went into a slight smirk. It wouldn't be noticeable unless you were paying close attention. I backed and made a large circle around her to get to the man. The others looked at me confused, then the women let out a groan. They all seemed to understand why I made the circle around her. The man ordered the others to get back to doing what they were supposed to be doing, then he told me to follow him to the office. When we walked into the office I was in awe. There were bookshelves on almost every wall except for the wall that was just windows. The book shelves went from floor to roof and were lined with books from every genre. In front of the window wall was a simple dark oak desk with a large back office chair in front of it. In the middle of the room were two couches with a coffee table sitting between them. The only pop of color in the room was the books and the many plants hanging about. He gestured to the couch and then sat on the other. I walked over and took a seat across from him, and placed my hands in my lap. Now that I was actually looking at my clothes, I recognized them. I bought these clothes a month ago, which someone had to have brought them here. 'Was it Derek?' 'Did he actually care about me enough to know I was hurt and bring me extra clothes?'
