Every spring, Aciano goes to his mother’s side of the family’s farm in Virginia. It’s a relief to be away from all the New York business. Here he can breathe.

He goes there for his grandmother, half sister, and aunt. At least, those are some of the reasons he goes there. He’d never admit to anyone that there was a fourth reason, not even himself.

About a year ago, he was in the garden when he was hit with a disc and met with a voice apologizing. He looked over to see a boy with golden blond hair, mesmerizing green eyes, and tan skin that reminded him of the sun. He was covered in freckles that complimented his face, and his clothes consisted of a white t-shirt and jean shorts.

“Sorry about that,” he said. “I’m Sam, short for Samson.”

”Aciano” was all that he could manage before standing up to shake his hand.

”Are you new here? I don’t believe we’ve ever met,” asked the young man.

”I’m visiting family”

”Cool. Well, I’ll see you around, Aciano.” Sam said before running off to wherever.

After that, they couldn't stop meeting. One day, it became much more than a friendship, and Aciano couldn’t help but wish there was something between them.

“This is the perfect time to have you around” His cousin, Kamilah, said. She had around the same features about her, only with more elegance and carefulness. Dark skin, brown hair, gray eyes, and a smile that melts butter.

”It’s always great to be here, Kamilah.”

”Are you sure about that? It’s a wonder if you’re here for us or for your friend~” Kamilah teased as she pulled out the towel from the basket containing the fruit. Most of their stuff was either hand made, grown, or from a farmer’s market. These fruits were from trees not too far from here.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Aciano said innocently.

”Yes you do, cousin. How’s that little boy toy of yours?” Kamilah continued pushing it.
“Please never say ‘boy toy’ again,” Aciano said, practically a fire hydrant in his face at this point.

Kamilah giggled and finished putting the fruit away. She ruffled Aciano’s hair before walking back to her room and leaving him alone in the kitchen.

Aciano decided that the perfect day shouldn't go to waste, so he grabbed a bow and arrow from his black messenger bag made from old jeans and went outside to the woods.

The crisp spring air went through his short curls as he walked through the valley. Usually around this year, Hyacinths grow everywhere. It was Aciano’s favorite flower, as it symbolized forgiveness, which he lacked more than he admits.

The boy drew his bow and arrow before aiming at a tree in the distance. This wasn’t the first time he had done this, nor the last.  As he shot the arrow, he then saw the blonde he called his only friend standing right next to the arrow.

”Well, usually people say ‘good to see you again’ but I suppose almost shooting them in the temple with an arrow is acceptable,” Sam said.

“Sorry, Sam. I didn’t see you there” Aciano said. Sam smiled. The same smile he always had when Aciano was in his presence. It lit up a room.

“C’mon, flower. I wanna show you something” Sam said before grabbing his arm and dragging him up a hill. Aciano ran to keep up with him and the both of them couldn’t help but laugh.

He felt like a child again, even though he was eighteen. “Hurry, we’ll miss it!” Sam said excitedly.

After a few minutes and definitely not Sam tripping, they made it to the top of the hill. It was full of lilacs, Hyacinths, and roses.

"Woah," Aciano said. “Woah indeed, baby girl" Sam said proudly.

The two sat down on a rock and the sun started to set.

"This is it" Sam said, the smile in his voice obvious. "Whenever the sun sets it lines up perfectly with the flowers for a moment."

Aciano looked over at the blonde. And well, let's just say the flowers weren't the only beauty here.

As he thought all the things about him, it was no secret to himself that he was in love.

Little did he know that this entire time, the boy on the right of him was thinking the exact same things about Aciano.
