May 2016. 15:56. CIA Headquarters. Berlin, Germany.

Third Person POV

Tony asked for Sophie and Sam to step out as he wanted to talk to Steve privately and try to convince him to sign the accords so both S's went out, giving the two friends some space to talk. While Sam went to argue with Natasha about his wings now being government property, Sophia stood at the back of the room, watching Bucky's monitor when she felt someone stand beside her. She didn't need to turn around to know who he was.

-Are you mad at me?.- She asks softly in french, almost as if she was a little girl again, scared that her dad was going to tell her off.

-Why should I be?.- He asks back and Sophia sighs.

-Because I let myself get caught.- She replies and now it's Pierre's turn to sigh.

-I'm not mad at you. I don't have reasons to be. I'm worried? Yes, because Thaddeus is crazy and I'm sure he is trying to find a way to prosecute you even when you have immunity and backup from this being an undercover mission.- Pierre says and Sophia turns around to look at him, part sad part angry.

-Why do I always get away with everything and not like the others? I was left out of the Accords, meaning there are no consequences for me even after I was involved in everything that happened with New York, D.C, Sokovia and Nigeria. Why do I get away with it and what happened today while Steve and Sam are about to be prosecuted like criminals for doing the right thing when I did the same?.- She asks, her voice low but enough loud for Pierre to notice the anger in it and behind her words.

Pierre knows part is because he protected her today, telling them she was in a mission and due to the I.I.S.A's international status, she is given jurisdiction and immunity wherever she goes, there is nothing that can be done about that, but also because she is his little girl and he knows there is nothing he wouldn't do to protect her, even if it means doing illegal stuff here and there.

But the Accords thing, they know it was Ross, because he knew that leaving her out would be the weak link for the Avengers downfall. That was why.

Not Tony, not Steve.

Sophia.

-Because while one of them is me trying to protect you, the other is Ross' scheme to make the team weak. He knows that if you're out, one way or the other, the others won't agree, the others won't do something and the team will weaken. Meaning it will be easier to break them apart and take them down, that's why he left you out. He said so himself. He needed an uneven number. No matter the outcome, the Avengers would be done for- Pierre says and Sophia shakes his head as she tries to cool down the burning anger in her veins.

She stares at Steve and Tony talking, Sam and Natasha on the other side, T'Challa still meditating, Ross checking the screens along with Sharon and Bucky on the monitor on the wall.

Her heart clenches as she looks at him in that cage, as if he was an animal, a terrorist, while he is nothing but kind and a good but tortured man. He is good and Sophia knows people need to see that instead of the things they made him be seventy years ago.

She knows she has to do something, but right now, at the CIA headquarters, her options are limited and a little out of reach. For starters, it would be almost a mission impossible to get him out of there without anyone trying to shoot them on sight. Either way, as she looks at the people in the room, she wished for a miracle to happen and for her to be able to make the perfect plan and get him out.

-I need to get him out of there.- Sophia says softly as she stares at the screen with Bucky looking around the cage before a man walks inside the place he is being held at.
