Can You Feel It?

Is it me or can any of you feel that shiver? That deep chill that crawls down your back when you’re alone, or when the lights are out? That twinge. Those unseen shadowed claws that crumple the cord and throws your mind off balance. Thoughts that you don’t want to be thinking, crawl into your mind; keeping you restless.

Alone. Dark.

The sudden shock that keeps you from dozing, keeps you awake. Alert. Just in case. Can you feel it now?

Who knows what goes on behind you, when you sit in front of the TV screen. What’s crawling up your back? Who’s waiting behind the door. What’s waiting behind that door. It could be nothing. Isn’t it always? The corner of your eye catches that glimpse of the unknown.

Quick. Dark.

Did you see it? It’s got to be your imagination. Right?

Fears leap into your mind, tearing at that already huge hole that’s eating away at your stomach. Do you really want to turn around? Do you really want to turn the light back on? Or are you better off not knowing, because what if you turn around or turn on the light? It could be nothing? Or? It could be something else. Something that tears your spine from your mind and whisper nightmares in your ears.
