Vivi Valoria adjusted the straps of her backpack and took a deep breath before stepping into the hallways of Westbrook High. New school, new start-that's what she kept telling herself. After her parents' sudden move across the state, she had no choice but to leave everything behind: her childhood home, her best friends, and... him.

As she walked through the crowded hallway, she kept her head down, trying to avoid the usual stares new students always got. She was halfway to her locker when she heard a familiar laugh. Her heart stopped. It couldn't be...

She turned her head slowly, and there he was.

The boy she thought she'd never see again.

For a moment, it was like time had rewound. His messy dark hair still fell over his forehead in the way she used to brush back when they were together. He was standing with a group of guys, completely unaware that she was there. But Vivi felt frozen in place, memories flooding back-late-night phone calls, inside jokes, the way he held her when she was upset. And then, the breakup. The one she never wanted but had no choice in when her parents announced they were moving.

Just when she thought she might escape without being noticed, his eyes met hers. His easy smile faltered. His brows furrowed, and then his expression shifted cold

"Did he just ignore me ?"

And the moment his eyes met mine, I felt it.

The shift.

The warmth that used to be there? Gone. The way he used to smile at me like I was the only girl in the world? Replaced with something colder, something unreadable.

And then, just like that-he turned away.

Not a nod. Not a word.

Just... nothing.
