As Raina stood there, frozen in fear, the figure in the doorway stepped forward, revealing a shocking sight.
It was Mike, Raina's missing friend. He looked a bit dishevelled but otherwise unharmed.
"Mike!" Raina exclaimed, rushing towards him. "Where have you been? I've been searching everywhere for you!"
Mike smiled, looking a bit sheepish. "I'm sorry, Raina," he said. "I didn't mean to worry you. I just...I stumbled upon something, and I had to investigate further."
Raina's eyes narrowed. "What did you stumble upon?" she asked.
Mike hesitated, looking around the room nervously. "I'm not sure I should say," he said. "But I think it's connected to the strange occurrences in Ravenswood."
Raina's ears perked up. "What strange occurrences?" she asked.
Mike leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper. "I've been seeing things, Raina," he said. "Things that can't be explained. And I think it's all connected to the history of Ravenswood."
As Mike spoke, Raina felt a shiver run down her spine. What was going on in Ravenswood? And what did Mike's disappearance have to do with it?
But before she could ask any more questions, Ava reappeared, her eyes fixed intently on Mike.
"Welcome back, Mike," Ava said, her voice dripping with an otherworldly intensity. "I see you've been exploring the secrets of Ravenswood."
Mike's eyes widened, and he stepped back, looking fearful. "How did you know?" he asked.
Ava smiled, her eyes glinting with a knowing light. "I know many things, Mike," she said. "And I think it's time we had a little chat."
As Ava spoke, Raina felt uneasy. What did Ava want with Mike, and what secrets was she hiding?
But before she could intervene, Ava touched Mike's forehead. And in an instant, Mike's eyes went blank, and he collapsed to the floor.
"Ava, what have you done?" Raina cried out, rushing to Mike's side.
Ava turned to her, her eyes flashing with a fierce intensity. "I've just begun, Raina," she said. "Soon, you'll see the truth about Ravenswood and yourself."
As Ava spoke, Raina felt a sense of dread wash over her. What had Ava done to Mike? And what did she mean by "the truth about Ravenswood"?
