AN: This is all I have written, I may write more if people end up LIKING it for some reason, but that's true for everything in this compilation of things I've just kinda spat out.

Marinette flicked her tail, watching the bubbles swirl, and sighed. "Alya, you know we're not allowed to go to the surface until we turn 18."

"Yeah, but aren't you curious?" Alya asked, voice full of longing. Marinette followed her gaze to the surface, peppered with ripples. It must be raining on the surface, a sensation she had always wanted to feel.

"Obviously , I am, but you know my mom would kill me. Plus, I've waited almost 18 years, I can wait a few months for us to both be 18." Marinette explained for the umpteenth time.

"Uggghhh, fineeee, we can wait until my birthday." Alya groaned. "But you have to promise not to go without me, okay?"

"I promise! I promise every time we have this conversation! Anyways, Mom would be horrified if I went to the surface without my loyal bodyguard."

"That's true... Also, I'm sorry, I know I talk about this a lot, I'm just super excited. Forgive me?"

"Of course, we're in this together!" Marinette replied. "Besties for the resties?" she asked, flicking her tail up between them.

"Besties for the resties!" Alya responded, flicking her tail up to create an x with a laugh.

"Oh, don't you have a date with Nino to get ready for?" Mari asked, glancing at the Time Tower. It had a huge human clock on it, spelled to stay dry, so they always knew what time it was above. This started so the ambassadors could keep track of human time, but now it was used by everyone to tell time.

Alya glanced at the Tower. "Seashells! I almost forgot! I'm going to be late and my outfit shrank in the washing pool!"

Marinette sighed, not surprised. "Come on, I'll use Current Of The Sea to get us back and help you pick out a new outfit."

"THANK YOU SO MUCH! You're a life saver!" Alya grabbed Marinette's hands and spun them in a circle.

Marinette slapped her tail the opposite way as the way they were spinning so they came to a stop. "Alya, we better hurry up if you're going to be there on time!"

"Oh, seashells and sand storms, you're right! Let's go!"

With that, Alya grabbed Marinette's hand and they swam back home to the palace, propelled by Marinette's magic current.
