basically this is just a small thing explaining(very vaguely cuz spoilers)the background lore that the plot this story is set on, and then family and romantic relationships, because it can get kind of confusing.
BACKGROUND: lets make it simple―
we are all familiar with society's general beliefs on what is good and what is bad. generosity, light, life, love; this is seen as good and is referred to as the Angelics. then there is greed, death, darkness, hatred; these are viewed as wicked and known as the Demonics. since before time, these two supernatural forces have been in an eternal game of push and pull, always trying to outlast the other. but it would never end, as one could not thrive without the other. the Angelics were always the stronger energy by just enough to keep the delicate balance between them and the mischievous Demonics. the darkness would always slip away right before total annihilation, hiding, plotting, waiting for a time to rise again. but still, their time at the top would never come. and for a long time, the powers were content with it. until they weren't.
on a day, the Angelics claimed that the Demonics were growing to powerful. and if they took over, it would be the end for every one. that single possible outcome justified their drastic measures. they pushed themselves to the limits, doing everything in their power to get rid of the Demonics for good. the lower power was pushed into their prison, a hell that not even the strongest devil could escape. but, they had one last scheme to stay alive.
mortals.
mortals were fools. and yet, they held the purest form of energy in the known universe. a soul. souls were priceless things, even in the heavens. you could do anything with them, turn them into anything. but mortals, mortals didn't do nothing with them. many didn't even believe in them. so, one man's trash is another man's treasure, isn't it?
so the Demonics would reach into the heads of the mortals, and whisper the most scandalous, most desired things a person could want. they would lead the mortals to do terrible things, and then step over the edge, right into hell. this was a tactic to build their numbers, and scare off the Angelics from harassing them anymore. but it didn't work. if anything, it inspired their enemies.
the Angelics also turned to the mortals, those with good hearts. they explained their dilemma, and promised anyone who helped would be promised to the heavens, and all their mortal wishes be fulfilled until then. there were many who preferred that outcome than that of the Demonics, so they turned. and for a time, life was perfect with the evil. until it wasn't.
as mentioned before, you can't have one without the other. it's not possible. one day, the promised mortals had begun feeling that they were above their peers who weren't. they began to pillage and take control of the plane. and the Angelics? they sat in their high towers, watched, and laughed. the rest of the world would not have this. they turned against the promised and the Angelics. the promised were wiped out to a dwindling number, until they were gone.
almost.
one man lived, and he begged for the Angelics to save his way of life. but right when the promised needed their gods the most, they disappeared. he believed they were ashamed, that they had forsaken them. then, he remembered their promise.
they must have been preparing a place for them. yes, that was what it was. he decided that he would spread their name once again. but of course, underground, because the world had a burning hatred against the Angelics. they were jealous. let them be.
