The world works in mysterious ways. Isn't it weird how someone can be a total stranger and then, all of a sudden, become one of the most important people in your life? I always wonder why we meet the people we meet and why we fall in love with the people we fall in love with. Sometimes, it feels like an invisible string is pulling you through life...

The sun's bright light streamed through the large windows of my bedroom, gently waking me up. Today was an important day, I was auditioning for my first-ever movie. Over the past few years, I had started taking acting more seriously. I had landed small cameos in TV shows, but if I got this part, it would be my biggest role yet. Despite having extremely influential parents, I had to work just as hard as everyone else to pursue my dreams. I didn't want help from them. I wanted to make a name for myself. And I was determined to do just that.
I rushed out of bed, excitement buzzing through me as I started getting ready for my big audition. Standing in front of the mirror, I applied light makeup, just enough to enhance my features without looking overdone. Then, I curled my long blonde hair into soft waves before slipping into a simple yet polished outfit. Once I was ready, I headed to the kitchen, flipping through my script as I made myself breakfast. The words on the page felt familiar, but I still mouthed them under my breath, wanting to make sure every line stuck. Today could change everything.
After finishing my breakfast, I took a deep breath, grabbed my bag, and headed out the door. My heart pounded with anticipation as I made my way to the audition. This was my moment the chance to prove myself, to show that I belonged in this industry not because of my last name, but because of my talent. I replayed my lines in my head, determined to give the best performance of my life.

After a short drive, I arrived at the audition and stood frozen outside the tall building. It wasn't nerves about the audition itself that held me still, it was the weight of what this role could mean for my future. If I got the part, everything could change.
Taking a deep breath, I gathered my courage and pushed open the large doors. Inside, I was greeted by the warm smile of the receptionist. After checking in, I made my way to the waiting area, where a dozen beautiful women sat, each one looking just as poised and prepared as I hoped I did. I smoothed my hands over my outfit and tried to steady my breathing. This was it.

"Josephine."
My name rang through the quiet room as the casting director called me forward. I took a steadying breath, stood up confidently, and walked toward the audition room with purpose.
As I entered, I was met with the sight of four casting directors seated at a long table, their eyes fixed on me with quiet expectation. The room was stark and professional, the kind of place where careers were made or broken. I stepped into position, offering them a poised smile before taking one final deep breath. This was my moment and I was ready.

After a few minutes, I finished my audition, exhaling as the final words left my lips. I glanced at the casting directors, searching for any flicker of approval. Though their expressions remained mostly neutral, But I felt it. I had made my mark.
Walking out of the room, a grin spread across my face. Confidence buzzed through me, lifting my steps as I left the building. A sense of joy unlike anything I had ever felt before filled my chest. As I stepped outside, my excitement momentarily froze. Standing near the entrance was a tall, handsome man one I recognized instantly. Drew Starkey. He was former co-star, if you could even call it that. I had made a brief cameo in his show Outer Banks, though we had never spoken. I had only seen him in passing on set. But now, here he was, just a few feet away, as if the universe had pulled our paths together again.
I decided to introduce myself, curious to see if he remembered me. With confidence, I walked up to him, a friendly smile on my face.
"Hi, Drew, I'm..."
Before I could finish, he cut me off.
"Not now," he said sharply, his tone curt and dismissive.
The sudden coldness caught me off guard. My smile faltered as confusion settled in. I hadn't expected a warm embrace, but I also hadn't expected... that. I walked away with my head held high, refusing to let his attitude dampen the confidence still coursing through me. Nothing could take away the energy I felt from that audition not even a brush-off from Drew Starkey.
Maybe he was having a bad day. Maybe he didn't remember me. Either way, it didn't matter. I had just taken a huge step toward my dreams, and that was all that mattered right now. With a deep breath, I pushed the moment aside and let the joy of my audition take over again. This was my day, and I wasn't going to let anyone ruin it.

one week later...
Ring, ring, ring
My heart skipped a beat as my phone buzzed in my hand. This was the call I had been anticipating for a week. The casting directors.
With shaky fingers, I quickly answered. "Hello?"
My voice came out steadier than I felt, but inside, my nerves were a tangled mess. This was it. The moment that could change everything. I held my breath, waiting for the words that would either make or break me.
"Hello, Josephine. I'm calling to let you know that you got the part of Meredith. We need you as soon as possible for a chemistry read with your co-star."
For a second, I couldn't breathe. My mind struggled to process the words, but the moment they sank in, a wave of pure exhilaration washed over me. I got the part.
"I—I got the part?" I stammered, needing to hear it again just to be sure I wasn't imagining things.
"Yes, congratulations! We'll send over all the details. Can you be here by this afternoon?"
My heart pounded so hard I could barely think straight, but there was only one possible answer.
"Yes! Absolutely. I'll be there."
As I ended the call, I let out a breathless laugh, my entire body buzzing with adrenaline. This was really happening. My dream was no longer just a dream it was my reality.

After getting ready, I headed back to the same building I had walked into just a week ago except this time, I wasn't a nervous wreck auditioning for a change. This time, I was walking in with confidence and excitement, knowing I had already earned my place. I stepped through the familiar doors, greeted once again by the casting directors, but this time, the setup was different. Instead of a long table like before, a large round table filled the room, scripts neatly placed in front of each seat.
I scanned the room until I spotted my designated spot. "Meredith." My character's name.
A rush of pride filled me as I sat down, running my fingers over the bold letters. This was real. This was happening.
Now, all that was left was to meet my co-star the person I would be sharing the screen with, the person I would have to create undeniable chemistry with.
I took a deep breath, steadying myself. Whoever they were, I was ready...
