She opened the ring box—
And the moment Alcina saw it, her entire body shuddered.
Her lips parted, a sharp inhale slipping past them, her golden eyes burning with something raw, something deep.
Ally's heart pounded.
"Will you marry me?"
For a moment—
Nothing.
Just the soft flicker of candlelight, the whisper of wind through the ivy, the heavy, achingly tender silence between them.
Then—
Alcina moved.
Fast.
Faster than Ally expected.
One moment she was standing—
And the next, she was pulling Ally up, crashing their lips together in a kiss so fierce, so desperate, that it stole every breath from Ally's lungs.
Alcina was trembling.
"Yes," she whispered against Ally's lips, her hands shaking as she cupped her face. "Yes, dragă mea. Always, yes."
Ally melted.
And just like that—
She was home.
"My love," Alcina whispered against her lips, her golden eyes burning with something fierce, something tender. "You..." She exhaled sharply, pressing her forehead to Ally's, voice dropping to something softer, something only for her. "You wish to be mine forever?"
Ally smiled, her heart swelling, aching with love. "I already am."
Alcina let out a deep, shuddering breath, her grip tightening around Ally's waist. "I never dreamed this was what you were up to..." She trailed off, her lips parting like she wanted to say more—but words failed her.
And that?
That was enough to break Ally completely.
Because Alcina Dimitrescu—her fierce, unyielding, stunningly beautiful lover—was speechless.
Ally let out a soft, shaky laugh, reaching up to cradle Alcina's face between her hands. "I love you," she whispered, pressing a kiss to her cheek, then another to her lips, slow and lingering. "I love you so much."
Alcina let out a low, deep growl of satisfaction, her arms wrapping around Ally as if she would never let go. "And I love you," she murmured against her lips, her voice thick, reverent. "More than you could ever fathom, iubirea mea."
Ally sighed, melting against her. "You already said yes," she teased, pressing another kiss to the sharp line of Alcina's jaw. "You can stop looking so in awe of me."
Alcina let out a deep, rumbling chuckle, tilting Ally's chin up with two fingers, golden eyes glowing with adoration. "Oh, Alexandra," she murmured, brushing her thumb over Ally's bottom lip. "You truly have no idea how much I love you."
Ally shivered, her stomach flipping.
Then—
She remembered.
The ring.
Her fingers shook as she reached back into her pocket, brushing against the small, velvet box—the weight of it suddenly so much heavier.
She pulled it out, hesitating for just a second before opening it.
Alcina's golden eyes flickered down, her gaze softening as she took in the sight of the ring.
