Chapter 19 A Question

Ally narrowed her eyes. "How do you even know about this?"

Daniela snickered. "You think we wouldn't notice you acting shifty?"

"You've been dodging Mother like a hunted animal," Cassandra added, plopping into a chair. "It was obvious."

Ally sighed, rubbing her temple. "You're all a menace."

Bela smirked. "Perhaps. But we also have something you need."

Ally arched a brow. "Oh?"

"Time," Bela said simply. "And extra hands."

Ally blinked. "You're going to help?"

"Of course," Bela said, amused. "It has to be perfect, doesn't it?"

Daniela clapped her hands together, vibrating with excitement. "This is going to be so cute! We have to move fast—Mother is going to find you soon."

"Which is why we need a plan," Cassandra muttered. "Fast."

Ally exhaled, her heart swelling with relief. "Okay. Here's what I need:"

She flipped her notebook open and rattled off instructions, the sisters listening with sharp, eager attention.

Bela would handle the candles, ensuring they were arranged in a way that made the setting glow with warmth.

Cassandra would collect the roses, weaving them into the trellis, ensuring their deep red petals framed the space with elegance.

Daniela—

"I want to help set up the table!"

Ally hesitated. "Dani, I love you, but... you're not exactly careful."

Daniela gasped, offended. "I can be careful!"

Bela smirked. "She cannot."

Daniela pouted. "Fine. I'll set out the wine."

"And don't drink it all," Cassandra muttered.

"No promises."

Ally grinned, her heart hammering with anticipation.

She reached into her pocket, fingers brushing over the cool metal of the ring—her mother's ring, now resized to fit the only person in the world she wanted to spend forever with.

"This has to be perfect," she murmured. "She deserves something perfect."

Bela's smirk softened. "It will be."

Daniela bounced on her heels. "I can't wait to see her face!"

Cassandra snorted. "Mother is going to cry."

Ally gasped. "Do you think?"

"Oh, absolutely," Bela said smoothly. "She's going to act composed, of course, but the moment you slide that ring on her finger? You're never getting out of her arms again."

Ally's stomach fluttered.

She wanted that.

More than anything.

"Let's do this," she whispered.

And with that—

They got to work.

With the daughters enlisted, the greenhouse transformation began.

Ally worked fast, her heart hammering as she moved between tables, rearranging the space to make it perfect.

The candles Bela had gathered flickered with warm, golden light, casting soft shadows against the ivy-draped walls.
