A simple, elegant dark gold band, with a set of stones, vintage, smooth and polished with age—timeless, just like the woman she loved.
Alcina's lips parted slightly, her eyes searching Ally's face as if trying to place it.
"It was my mother's," Ally whispered, her voice barely above a breath. "It's one of the only things I have left of her."
Alcina stilled, her expression shifting into something softer, something infinitely tender.
"Alexandra..."
Ally swallowed, tightening her grip on the box. "It's why I wanted to go back to the city so badly." She let out a small, breathy laugh, her chest aching with emotion. "Not just for my things. Not just to pack up my old life." She met Alcina's gaze, eyes burning with love. "I needed to bring this back with me. Because from the moment I stepped into this castle, I knew."
She took a deep breath, blinking back tears. "I knew that my home wasn't in the city. It wasn't in the things I left behind."
Her voice shook, but she didn't falter.
"It's with you."
Alcina let out a sharp, unsteady breath, her fingers twitching at her sides.
Ally took Alcina's left hand, her own trembling slightly as she slid the ring onto her finger.
It fit perfectly.
As if it had always belonged there.
Alcina stared at it, silent, her golden eyes flickering with too many emotions to name.
Then—
Her fingers curled, flexing slightly as she tested the weight of it.
As if memorizing it.
As if accepting it.
And then—
She exhaled.
Slowly.
Deeply.
Her golden eyes lifted, locking onto Ally's with an intensity that stole the breath from her lungs.
"You are certain?" Alcina murmured, her voice softer than a whisper. "You would give me something so precious?"
Ally smiled, reaching up to press a kiss against her knuckles. "It's already yours."
Alcina trembled.
Then—
And the next, she was pressed against Alcina's chest, her lover's arms wrapped so tighter around her it was as if she never intended to let go.
Ally melted.
And just like that—
She was home.

They barely made it two steps towards the exit before—
"YOU'RE ENGAGED!!!"
Ally yelped, nearly jumping out of Alcina's arms as Daniela burst into the greenhouse, absolutely vibrating with excitement.
"DANI!" Bela hissed, grabbing her sister by the back of her collar. "We agreed to wait!"
"I COULDN'T!!!" Daniela shouted, practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. "LOOK AT THEM! THEY'RE SO IN LOVE!"
Bela smirked, her golden eyes twinkling with mischief. "You're going to be our Momma now."
Ally froze.
