Pond POV~

As I walked home, I started planning my strategy. Step one: act pitiful. Step two: blame the difficulty of the test. Step three: if all  else fails, casually bring up phuwin and let the conversation shift!

Yeahh!! It had worked before.

But as I neared my house, I had a feeling it wouldn't be that easy this time.

Taking a deep breath, I braced myself and stepped inside.

As I stepped inside when my eyes landed on Phuwin, sitting comfortably on the couch, munching on a piece of fruit like he had no worries in the world.

(If  you guys are confused about what phuwin is doing in Pond's house then let me tell you that Pond and phuwin are neighbors)

The moment phuwin saw me, his lips curled into a teasing grin, his eyes practically, screaming: hey Pangpond, TODAY YOU'RE DOOMED!

I shot him a glare that clearly meant, DON'T YOU DARE!!

before I could even think of an escape plan, my mother's voice rang out from the kitchen. "Hey, Pond! How was the paper?!"

I froze. Crap. I had been so focused on surviving phuwini's mischief that I forgot about this inevitable moment.

But then-nothing."did phuwin didn't say a word about paper" I thought. Phuwin just sat there, still chewing his fruit, his expression unreadable.

I sighed in relief.

Just as I was about to answer, my eyes flickered towards the staircase. My father was coming down, slowly, his gaze sharp-clearly waiting for my  response.

I gulped

And then I made the worst mistake! Damnnn!!!

I turned to look at phuwin.

Phuwin, who was still chewing, still completely relaxed-but now smiling mischievously.

"He always do that" I let out a nervous sigh.

I managed to get the words out, my voice betraying me as I stuttered, "i.. It.. It was o-okay, but-"

My father's sharp voice cut through the air. "But-but WHAT?!"

I flinched.

My mother quickly came out of the kitchen, placing a hand on my father's arm to calm him down. With a sigh, she turned to me and gestured towards my room. "GO"

I lowered my head, dragging  my feet toward my room like 'a defeated soldier heading heading to his room'.

As I reached the stairs, I heard a voice behind me-phuwin's voice.

{Phuwin used to call Pond's mom 'Mae'}
"Mae, the paper was easy! Don't worry!" Phuwin chirped cheerfully, popping another piece of fruit into his mouth.

I froze mid-step. Youuu little-bitc!!

My father let out a scoff. "Off course, it was easy for you, child! That's because you actually study! Not like pond!"

I clenched my jaw, groaning internally. "Why does he have to say stuff like that NOW?!"

phuwin, still as innocent (devil) as ever, hummed, "Hmm, but pond did study! Just....not as much as me."

My father shook his head. "Exactly my point!"

As soon as I reached the door of my room, I slammed my door shut behind me, throwing myself onto my bed. I had lost this battle. AGAIN!

No one's POV~

And phuwin?

Phuwin was probably still out there, munching on fruit, acting like he hadn't just made things worse for pond-AGAIN!"
