Fights, comments, and lies

I was soon whisked away to the stands to watch the beginning of the match. Avery was a few seats behind me. When half time came around she quickly ran off. She was clearly feeling overwhelmed with everything. She wasn't invisible anymore. She was the entertainment.

I slipped out to follow her. I watched as Grayson led her to a second elevator. Jealousy burned at the pit of my stomach. It felt stupid. I was the one who kept messing with him.

Jameson popped into view from beside me, "What are you staring at."

"Grayson took Avery up that elevator," I looked to see the same jealousy burning inside him that I had mere seconds ago. "I assume it goes to the roof."

"Yes, it does."

I fixed him with a stern gaze, "You are not going to do something stupid."

He flashed me a grin, "I would never."

After he went up the elevator, it didn't take me long to follow him. This was going to be fun—or it would be a mess. Either way, I would probably get some entertainment.

Immediately after the elevator door opened I saw Avery sitting in the middle of the two boys. She was obviously rattled by whatever Jmaeson had just said. He was simply amused.

"Hate to break up love triangle 2.0 but we all need to talk," I say making my presence known to everyone.

Avery and Jameson get visibly irritated by the comment, Grayson however is simply confused. Good sign for me I suppose.

Jameson leant into Avery whispering in her ear, "She's on my team."

Right after the words leave his mouth her mood shifts instantly.

Grayson glared at me, "You are doing this as well."

"What else would I do with my day Gray Gray?"

He frowned slightly, "I thought you might be the voice of reason."

"I like to win." I told him before turning to the group, "Now back to what we all need to talk about. Well excluding him," I hint to Grayson, "Neither of you has any idea on what you are doing when it comes to figuring out where Toby is."

"That's why I have a wonderful assistant," Jameson said cracking a smile. I could see the layer behind it. He was trying to say something different.

I play along rolling my eyes, "I'm saying that this isn't just a dandy little game anymore. People are going to get hurt, bombed, kidnapped, and more. This is real life."

"There is no way that any of that will happen," Avery announces to me. Her face is set with a new determination to go through everything she already knows. She needs to win. I won't be able to get her to back down, but I can still freak her out.

"I can guarantee you this will cause a mess. Everything bad that will happen will happen to you. You are not going to solve this like the last one."

The line hit something at her core. Like she knew what I was saying would happen.

Before anyone says a word fireworks lit up the stadium.

The minute they did I saw Avery's face. It sounded like a gunshot. Panic raced through her. I could tell it was bad the way her body shook slightly. Jameson was right there in a second immediately rushing to the floor next to her.

"Fireworks," He said softly to her, "It's just fireworks for halftime."

I saw her body react to his voice and it trailed through her mind. She looked up and repeated it back to him.
