She stops wondering and thinks in facts. The man was leading the way and would've been electrocuted first. So someone wanted to go after him, most likely.

They also didn't want to risk getting caught.

The lights flicker suddenly and grow a bit dimmer. Jillian stiffens.

"Who's there?" the man demands.

Suddenly a figure drops from somewhere up above and lands in the electrocuted part of the water.

"Watch out!" Jill shouts.

The figure straightens up, completely unharmed. They take a few steps forward, into the light. It's a girl.

"Who are you? How did you get in here?" the man barks.

The girl holds up a single, slender finger, silencing the man. "No questions, please. You want to get out? Come on. It's safe." Her dark eyes meet Jill's gaze in a silent warning. She's lying.

The man regards her suspiciously. "Do you have any clue who I am, young lady?"

She blinks calmly. "As a matter of fact, yes. You're the head scientists of an illegal lab that runs experiments on humans. Now, come this way if you please. We're running out of time."

She's telling the truth. The water has a tingly feel to it and it's slowly getting stronger.

The man narrows his eyes at the girl. "You're lying. You're wearing some kind of rubber pants or something."

The girl sighs as if she's been caught doing something naughty. "Oh, fine. I suppose the world needs someone of your impressive intellect."

This girl has a strange way of talking, Jill Thinks to herself.

The girl bends over and pulls the live wire out of the water. Jill can see she is wearing some kind of gloves, probably to protect her.

The tingling in the water fades.

The man straightens up. "There we are. Now,you're going to step aside and give us a safe distance to make our exit, whoever you are. Strange girl."

She smirks to herself and does as he says. He Marches proudly forward. Jill hesitates.

After a few moments the man turns back and says in exasperation, "Come on, girl! We don't have all day!"

The moment those words leave his mouth the lights from overhead grow even dimmer. Jill stands still. She knows the girl isn't after her. That much is clear. The man is clearly not to be trusted. That tends to be true of a man doing illegal experiments on children.

The girl holding the wire moves stunningly quickly. Literally, stunningly. She draws her gloves off and grips the humming wire with bare hands. She's doing something amazing and impossible. She conducts the electricity. It flows through her and into the water.

The man is too close to her.

Jill feels only a tingling sensation. She watches the man stiffen. His arms flail in jerky motions.

The girl extends her hand towards him. Visible electricity arches from her fingertips and zaps the man. His eyes roll back into his head and he goes limp, falling over in the water.

The girl takes something from her coat pocket and covers the live wire. She tosses it aside. The currents of electricity stop.

Jill stares wide eyed at this girl, who turns to her and grins.

"Hello there! Name's Spark. Nice to finally meet you," she says totally nonchalantly, as if nothing odd just happened.

Jillian swallows. Her throat is suddenly quite dry. "Uh, I'm Jill."

"I know." Spark lets out a low whistle. Two figures start running towards them, coming from the tunnel's exit. They're silhouettes at first, but as they get closer Jill can see they're both girls, about the same age as Spark. One of them, the shorter of the two, drags the man to the side of the corridor where the water is shallower. The other girl hands her a rope, and she ties him up.

All three of them stand before Jillian with excitement reflecting in their eye.

"Jillian," Spark says, a bit dramatically."We've been searching for you. We need your help."
