Gyeong shook her head. "This doesn't feel right. This is my six month wage," she said. "What are you even planning to do?"
"I just need some information, Gyeong-ssi. See, we know that there's something going on between Jimin-ssi and your friend. Every other reporter out there knows thanks to those leaked photos of them kissing in a club." He leaned forward on his elbows. "I just want to be the first to publish it. In this line of work, exclusivity is everything, Gyeong-sso."
Gyeong stared at him in disbelief. "All this effort just for an exclusive?"
"Yes."
She leaned forward. "I don't believe you. Why does it matter to you what goes on between them? Why is so much money involved in this one? Are you one of those Jun-myeon's lackeys? Are you going to hurt my best friend?"
Jusang's face shifted with disbelief. "What? No!" Just then the waiter came with their beverages and muffins. He waited until the waiter moved away. "Gyeong-ssi, my job is on the line. My wife is pregnant and I can't afford to lose this job. I need this exclusive," he stressed out.
"My friend is not a celebrity." She scowled, but he noticed her affection running deeper than just the surface. He also sensed the concern rooted in her. Jusang understood why. This world was unfair to their bunch. No matter what they did, they were still the bottomfeeders.
"Park Jimin is," Jusang replied without missing a beat. "Believe me or not, your friend became a matter of interest as soon as he associated himself with the big league. He's a regular omega, a student at that. Nobody is what I mean."
Gyeong huffed, her tone icy, "Jungkook is not a nobody."
Jusang sighed, lacing his fingers under his chin. "Then who is he? What's his identity beyond being a student?"
Gyeong's eyes narrowed at him. "A kind, compassionate and loyal friend. That's what he is," she replied in the same icy cold tone. "He's my best friend. That is enough."
Jusang chuckled at her protectiveness. "I understand, but you better than anyone else know being that alone isn't enough to survive in this world."
"You'd be surprised. Let's get to the real reason we're here," she said, sitting back and folding her hands across her chest.
The reporter exhaled, choosing his words carefully. He could tell she had a high opinion on her best friend. "I just want to know the nature of their relationship between Jimin-ssi and your friend. And I need proof."
Gyeong smiled. "They're dating." She reached for her coffee, sipping it. "Jungkook isn't in it for money. They're in love."
Jusang blinked. Is this some kind of a joke? He blinked. "What? Come again."
Gyeong bit into her muffin as if she wasn't surprised by this information. "You asked for information. There it is." She checked the time on her phone. "I gotta go." She took another huge bite of her muffin.
"No, wait. That's unheard of. How is that even possible?" he wondered. "Jimin-ssi is a purebred wolf and your friend... he's..."
"He is?"
"He's not. That's very rare. Jimin-ssi...he doesn't date." Jusang frowned. "I...I heard he's one of the hardest to tame." Gyeong's eyes narrowed dangerously at him. "I mean the ones that dated him always said that," he clarified.
"You heard wrong," she countered him nonchalantly. "And that's because Jimin-ssi did not meet Jungkook yet. I answered your question. Now I must go."
"I need proof." He stood up when she did. "Just tell me where can I find them? I just need one photo or video of them together."
