I thought about it for a very, very long time, and honestly, I didn't know. I wanted Ursanne's loyalty because she has mine, but if it came down to it, maybe it wouldn't be so bad that she dated Andrew. Maybe behind his loyalty for Zech, he's actually a cool guy. He sure acted like a cool guy when he was my friend.
"For her to be happy," I admitted bitterly, looking at my feet.
"Then let her be."
I tried to be angry at the situation, but maybe they were right. In the end, Ursa did say it's all right for me to be with Collie.
It just sucks that she won't even consider breaking up with Andrew for me when I did in a heartbeat for her.
"Okay."
...
When Greg and I were done, he asked me if I still wanted to go to Collie's. I had texted her just as we finished if it was okay, and fortunately, her parents weren't home at the moment, but her sister was. Letting Greg know that I could go over, I directed him to her house.
When we made, Collie was already at the door. She waved to Greg who told me a quick goodbye as I got out of the car. Once he drove away, I hopped Collie's porch steps and entered her house.
"Your dad's not here?"
She shook her head. "No, but he'll be here soon. I was thinkin' we could go to our spot."
"The park?" I grinned.
"I feel like that place has a meaning for our relationship."
"It does," I admitted, grasping her hand. "It-"
"You didn't tell me your boyfriend was coming over," Candice's familiar voice spoke up.
Our heads jerked up to Collie's sister who was standing down the hall with her car keys and purse in hand.
"I thought you were leaving," Collie said.
Candice smirked and came towards us. "Maybe not now."
Collie rolled her eyes. "I love you, Candice, but there's a reason I only invite him over when no one's here."
"You're lucky I think he's cute," she pointed at me, "otherwise I'd tell Mom and Dad."
I blushed, the conversation suddenly going silent.
"H-hi, Candice," I greeted awkwardly.
"Hi, Brayden," she smiled. "Let's go into the living room. Colleen hasn't exactly told me how you guys met."
Collie groaned. "No, Candice. He and I are going to the park."
Candice frowned. "I haven't properly talked to him yet!"
"Well once you convince Mom and Dad he isn't a menace to society, you will." Collie pulled me passed her sister and up to her bedroom where she put on some shoes.
"You know I've talked to Caleb more than I've talked to Candice."
"She's not bad," Collie replied, tying her left converse.
"Why won't you let me talk to her?"
"Because you're my boyfriend and we're going to go out," Collie said sarcastically like I was stupid, which actually kind of made me feel stupid. "She can talk to you all she wants when we get married, but for now, it doesn't matter."
When we get married...
"Ready?" she asked, hopping up.
"Yep," I nodded, trying to act like it wasn't weird hearing her say we'd be married someday.
