CALISTA

I never understood really pain until my husband of ten years told me that he wanted nothing to do with me after his ex-lover Talia Valentino came back into life. Talia is the daughter of some CEO or something. Apparently, they were together for three years before they broke up because Talia "got bored".

Roman's mother was more than happy to introduce Talia back into his life.

His mother, Josephine, hates me because I don't have a rich background. I grew up in a middle-class family. My mom was a designer, and my father was an engineer. Josephine never missed an opportunity to make a snide comment about me.

"You shouldn't eat that. You're already getting fat."

"You'll never be good enough for my son."

"Do you really think you're good enough to be here?"

"I don't know what he sees in you. You're not worth much."

She hated me the minute she met me. She even postponed our wedding with some fake medical emergency and even wore a white gown and veil to our wedding. Despite all of Josephine's hatred for me, Roman still married me. He loved me and cherished me

I wanted a marriage like my parents. I admire their romance so much. Throughout their entire marriage my dad treated my mom like a goddess. Buying her gifts, taking her out on dates every week, opening doors for her. The whole nine yards.

Months have gone back since Roman confronted me with divorce papers and photos of my "infidelity" He told me that he doesn't love me anymore. I tried to convince of my innocence, but he didn't want to hear any of it.

"You dirty whore! How dare you! After all that I've done for you. You go and sleep with some random man?" he accused me of cheating on him at some nightclub. I've always been an introvert. Preferring to be in the house reading a book or taking care of Aurelio than being out at some club.

"Do you really think that I would be at some nightclub? Do you even know me Roman? When have I ever been to a nightclub?"

He threw some photos at me, "Well this certainly shows you kissing this bastard at one!"

I picked up the photos and looked, "Roman this isn't me. You know I hate nightclubs." The photos do really look like me, but it isn't. "This- This is fake, Roman. Come on. You can't believe this."

"Stop with your lies Calista. It's clearly you in the pictures. You are a lying bitch. Are you trying to humiliate me?"

"Roman, think! This is fake. These photos are fake!" No matter what I said he didn't believe me.

We used to be so in love. At first, I wondered what happened but when his ex-lover showed up to his company building the day he showed me the divorce papers, it all made sense. She had done something. Josephine always praised Talia for her beauty and poise. She likes her because Talia has money, and Josephine thinks I'm a gold digger. She's convinced that I wanted Roman for his money, but I don't. I loved Roman for who he was. But she never believed me.

She smirked triumphantly as my husband the words that ruined my life, "I'm sorry Calista but our marriage as ran its course. I no longer love you." I felt my heart break into a million pieces after that, but his next statement is what killed me. "I want a divorce and full custody of Aurelio."

Our son, Aurelio, hates me now. He doesn't speak to me and when he does, all he talks about is how much he loves his new mom and how he doesn't want me to be his mom anymore.
