"Amy, I swear if we can't find your passport, I'm still going without you." I shout at my friend from under her bed, as I look for her passport. I know she thinks I'm joking, but I'm not. There's no chance I've waited the last however many years, so eager to get to Korea, and when it comes to the night before we leave, Amy can't seem to find her passport.
It's a good thing Minglai and Julia are coming with us because they've their heads screwed on a little more than Amy and I. All four of us grew up together.
Minglai is 23, and the oldest of us all. She grew up in quite a strict Chinese household. She has an older and younger brother, Faye and Vincent. Faye is 18, and acts as the typical irritating younger brother to us all. Vincent on the other hand is 25 and the sweetest little being ever. He is by far the smartest person I've ever met and I'm not even exaggerating. Minglai's mam and dad are also really nice, to me especially. Im fluent in mandarin. Her dad is fluent in English so he can talk to us all, but her mam has very minimal English. So the only friend of minglai's she can talk to is me.
Then there's Julia, she is the second oldest of us, being 22. She has two younger siblings, Susan and Carlos. Susan is only 13, but Carlos is 21 like me. We talk and hang around with Carlos quite a bit he's also best friends with Vincent. My mother always had a bet since I was younger that I'd never end up marrying either of them boys, but personally they're more like brothers to me. Oh also, Julia is from Poland, I don't really know if that is necessary information but hey-ho.

Amy is the youngest of us, she's 21, so am I but I'm 7 months older. Amy also works with me in the local Chinese restaurant. We're both just working there part time until we finish college. Amy is Irish like myself. She has one younger sister, Sarah who is 10. Amy's parents are divorced but her step dad is super cool so all is good.

Then there's me. Kimberly Brooke. Some would say she's smart, pretty, athletic, hilarious etc. that some would be me of course, as nobody else has specifically called me all those things to my face, but they are definitely thinking it. Anyways I'm 21, I got gifted with four whole brothers....yippee.
I can speak four and a half languages. The four being, English, mandarin, Spanish and Korean. The half being Irish, I count it as half because nobody really speaks it fluently apart from the west coast and sure I never go over there. So we put it to use by when we go abroad and need to talk in private. My favorite food is anything creamy, whether that be a nice carbonara or a fresh cream bun. I'm studying architecture and long to travel the world. The Chinese I previously referred to is owned by my mother's best friends family. I've worked there since I was 12, that's how I picked Chinese up so quick. Along side my Minglai helping me with pronunciations.
