RUIZ' P.O.V.

"Who the hell's that?"

I flinched as I heard Sallen behind me as I watched Driff walked to his class. I turned around to face him only to see his annoyed face.

"What's wrong?" I asked a little concern, he's been dating the campus' voted most beautiful student of the year so we haven't seen each other since the cafeteria incident. "Did you have a fight with your girlfriend?" I tried to fake a smile.

It's my vacant period so I'm heading to the library and he walked after me, still frowning.

"I asked you who's that guy? I haven't seen you with anyone before," he asked.

I shrugged, "well he's a new friend and he's kinda' nice," I said as I remember how Driff would always snatch my stuff and hold my things for me whenever we're together.

"Why are you smiling like that?" he asked irritated. I just ignored him.

"So what? What is the matter with you, huh? Why are you questioning me?" I asked as my cool façade slipping off.

He seems to be taken aback by my question, "well I just don't like him," he explained.

I narrowed my eyes as I stopped from walking to face him again. "Who are you to tell me who to be friends with? Aren't I allowed to have a new friend when the one I considered a friend, is too busy with his girlfriend to spend some time with me?" I snapped and before I realized what I've said, I already blurted it out.

I covered my mouth and then turn my back to him. I stepped forward preparing myself to run but before I could move I felt his hands wrapped around my shoulders. I stood frozen.

"Hey, I'm sorry okay?" he said leaning his head on mine.

I sighed, why 'am I so soft that just a simple gesture makes my heart flutters. "J-Just forget what I said!" I said freeing myself from him.

My heart's beating like crazy from the sudden contact. This is the first time someone touched me who is not a family. "I-I have s-something to do a-and your g-girlfriend m-might be looking for you..." I said changing the topic.

He just stayed behind me not moving an inch as if he's in a deep thought. I was afraid to look back at him. My emotions might have betrayed me as I'm starting to realize what I really feel towards this guy.

I sighed feeling my heart clenched. I have to remember that from the very beginning he declared that he is not gay and he has a girlfriend now. I better forget this stupid feelings, it is just a simple crush for crying out loud! I shook my head to brush off my unnecessary thoughts.

I cleared my throat, "I-I have to go... s-see you around then, S-Sallen..." I blushed as I barely call his name and it is kinda' embarrassing.

He didn't respond so I took it as a signal to leave but when I move he grabbed my wrist.

"Wait..." I turned to him in confusion. He seems like he is debating with himself for I don't know what. "Uh, would you want to go to my place to hang out after class?" he asked hesitantly.

I smiled bitterly, "you know, if you're not really comfortable with me around..." I feel awful saying this but I have to. "...you don't have to spend time with me anymore," I said smiling though deep inside my heart is stinging. He's face is blank which added to my soar feeling. "You could've spend all your time with your g-"

"Fuck that shit!" he cursed as he glared at me. I flinched at his sudden mood change, I've never seen him mad. "I'll see you at the parking lot this afternoon," he demanded but didn't wait for my answer, he just left me alone and stunned in the hallway.
