Tails' alarm blared softly as the sun streamed through the blinds. Groaning, he reached over to turn it off and stretched, his twin tails flicking in unison. Another day in their little home.

He hopped out of bed and shuffled to the bathroom, taking care of his usual morning routine. Brushing his teeth, washing his face—he glanced in the mirror, his reflection still a little groggy but starting to brighten up.

Afterwards, the scent of fresh waffles began to waft through the air as he expertly worked the waffle maker. He hummed a cheerful tune as he stacked the golden-brown treats on a plate, topping them with syrup and butter.

Satisfied with breakfast preparations, he grinned mischievously, leaving the waffles on the counter. Quietly, Tails padded up to Sonic's room and peeked inside. The blue hedgehog was sprawled across the bed, completely knocked out, one arm dangling off the side.

"Alright, big bro. Time to get moving!" Tails whispered before launching himself onto the bed with a playful bounce.

Sonic jolted, groaning as he buried his face further into his pillow. "Mnnn, I'm up... I'm up..." he mumbled, his voice thick with sleep.

Tails chuckled. "Good, because waffles are waiting!"

Sonic's ears perked slightly at the mention of food, though he remained lying down for another moment before rolling to his side. "Fine, fine. You win."

Sonic dragged himself out of bed, rubbing the back of his head as his quills stuck out in wild directions. He yawned and made his way to the bathroom, flipping on the light and squinting at his reflection in the mirror.

"Whoa," he muttered with a chuckle. "Bedhead's no joke today."

Grabbing a brush, Sonic started fixing his quills, smoothing them into their usual sleek, iconic shape. After a few swipes, he struck a pose, flashing his signature grin at himself. "Lookin' good, Blue Blur." He tilted his head and gave himself a wink. "Yep, still got it."

Satisfied with his appearance, he turned and sauntered downstairs, the smell of waffles growing stronger with each step.

"Finally decided to show up, huh?" Tails teased, setting a plate of waffles at Sonic's usual spot.

Sonic plopped into the chair, grinning as he picked up his fork. "What can I say? Greatness takes time."

Tails rolled his eyes but smiled. "Yeah, yeah. Just eat before the waffles get cold."

Sonic wasted no time digging in, the crispy edges and sweet syrup brightening his morning.

After finishing their breakfast, Sonic and Tails grabbed their backpacks and headed out the door toward school. The walk was brisk and lively, with Sonic casually flipping his backpack over one shoulder while Tails chatted about his latest invention ideas.

As they approached the school gates, a familiar scene unfolded. The moment Sonic stepped onto the grounds, a wave of gasps and excited chatter erupted.

"It's Sonic!" one student yelled, and within seconds, a crowd had formed around him.

"Sonic, can I get a photo?!"
"You're so cool!"
"Did you really take down Eggman last week?"

Tails stood to the side with an amused expression, shaking his head. "You'd think they'd be used to seeing you by now."

Sonic flashed a confident grin, holding up a hand to quiet the crowd. "Alright, alright. One at a time, folks. There's plenty of Sonic to go around."

He posed for a couple of quick photos, throwing peace signs and smirking at the cameras. "Okay, team," he said as the bell rang in the distance, "autograph sessions are over for now. Gotta keep those grades up."
