Chapter thirty-five

How can a heart that's been shattered over and over again still feel pain from the same person who caused the suffering?

Empress Mayara was looking at the Emperor being swoon over the Saintess.

She was watching them as the Saintess was looking at the emperor trying to hide her disdain. The Emperor was talking to her nonstop and is smiling like a person in love.

I should've gotten used to it but it still stings.

Empress Mayara thought.

They were having a lunch at the garden with just the three of them. The Saintess was supposed to visit her but when the emperor learned that Saintess Maria is there he intrudes on their lunch and know he keeps on yapping.

But looking at him now. He looks pathetic trying to impress the Saintess who is clearly not interested in him. Do I look like that to him all these years? Did I really humiliate myself this much?

Helios is right. I've lost self respect because of the whatsocalled love that isn't even worth it.

Let's end this. All those years are more than enough.

Mayara stood up suddenly and the emperor looked at her.

"Where are you going Empress?" He asked

She smiled. She was trembling but she needs to say this.

"Let's get a divorce your Majesty." She finally said

"Congratulations, you're pregnant." The doctor said

Vivian didn't know what to feel, but above all she was happy. She was finally carrying the child of the person she loves the most.

She was in her room and after feeling unwell for the past couple of days, her father called a doctor and it turns out she was pregnant.

She touched her flat belly.

"Am I really pregnant?" She asked

"Yes, so please be careful from now on as stress can affect the fetal growth." The doctor said

The door opened and Cliff went in. The doctor excused himself and leave

"Vivian, your father called me and said the you are sick " he said

She smiled widely.

"I'm pregnant, Cliff." She said so happily

But instead of smiling Cliff looks like the world ended for him.

Vivian was taken aback.

"A-Are you not happy?" She asked

Cliff forced a smile.

"I-I need to go and talk to my parents. I'll come back later." He said and went out

Tears fell from her eyes.

She has been crying on her room while remembering how Cliff reacted the first time she announced that she was pregnant. And now this, now that they knew the horrible thing that she did to the innocent child of that other world. Cliff will hate her even more.

"But it's so unfair. That child also wants to do that ." She keeps on thinking

"I shouldn't be the one suffering like this. She stole Gab from me in the first place. If I did not die then we could've been together."

Then she felt pain in her stomach.

"Please be careful from now on as stress can affect the fetal growth."

She suddenly remember what the doctor said.

She hugged her tummy with one hand. She felt scared so she ring the bell on her bedside table to call for the maids .

"Bring the doctor. Ouch! Ahh!" She grunted

She was scared to death. She tightly closed her eyes from pain waiting for the doctor. And when she opened her eyes, she saw blood on her thighs.

"No...no... Please no... You're my only hope now..." She cried

Nothing's going in her way. This must be divine punishment.

"I'm sorry ... I'm so so sorry ..." She sobbed

"Cliff..." She said before she lose consciousness.

It's a quiet day for Emerald. After all the chaos Helios insisted that she stayed up in her room to rest and he will do the other works for her.

Even her father and brother forbid her to go outside.

The rumors of that day are now widespread in the entire capital that her father is so busy trying to control the publishing companies.

Well. It's not like he can convince them all to stop the news spreading.

She was sitting on the balcony of her room lazing around. Her turmoil of emotions that day was nowhere to be found.

It's like her heart was now so tired that it no longer wants to feel anything.

The family that she so desperately tried to build and protect in her last life was all a farce and was destroyed by a selfish person's desire.

But would she really call it selfish.

Now that she thinks about it, Isabella just wanted to be with Gab but she as Bea was the one to fullfil the longing. Would she really feel happy if she were in Isabella's shoes?

Seeing the person you love the most be taken by other people.

But then again, even if it's her fault that they fall apart, she already paid it her whole life. She lived in Isabella's shadow and was never really loved.

Even if it's a sin to love Gab, she already repented and her child was innocent.

That was when Isabella or rather Vivian crossed the line.

She can never forgive her. Destroying her child's and her family's soul is not something she can forget.

She heard a commotion outside.

Then a maid went in.

"What's happening?" She asked

"A-ahmmm..." The maid stutter nervously

"Speak." She commanded

"Y-young Master Bellian is outside but the Madam and the Lord was away. What should we do? He just barged in and the knights are having a hard time stopping him. He's looking for my lady." She said

She really can't runaway forever. At some point she has to face Cliff.

"Let him in. I'll go talk to him." She said

The maid was still there, it's like she still has something to say but is hesitant to speak.

"What is it?"

The maid looked at her and suddenly lower her head .

"I'm so sorry, My lady! The Madam and the Lord told us to keep it a secret to you but we feel like you should know this."

"Know what?"

"There's a rumor going on that Young lady Fleur was pregnant with Young Master Bellian's child." She said and the door in her room opened.

"Hello Cliff." She said coldly
