It was an upcoming battle and Altair knew this already. His troops had regonised another hiding in the tree line. The only questioned that remained, was when would they strike. Estella was only a young demon. At only age 9 it was soon her powers would come into play as the next heir. It was a silent, cold, dim day. The air was thick, breaths held awaiting orders. Altair sat calmly on his throne, his right hand man Damien next to him both in a stern silence.
"Damien, do not focus on me. Just get Estella out of the manor" Altair said stoically.
Damien nodded his head, not even that could of prepared them for what happened next.
An unstoppable heat of fire and bloodshed rained down on the once peaceful home. Demons of all kinds cried out, the numbers dropping fast. Damien turned quickly sheilding the child next to him with his broken ashy feathers. But as he did he took the knife from his sheath and plunged into Altair. An action done so quick that neither had time to react.
"Damien... Get... Her out" Altair sputtered, clutching his side
"The woods... The woods.. Elvren" Altair coughed his eyes widen as all he could do was watch and listen to the wings flaps making there way out of the manor.
It was easy for Damien to be angry. Why didn't Altair say anything?. He couldn't focus as they made their way to the forest of Elvren. Collapsing in a fiery heat. All Estella could do was cry, shakily clutching her dad's blue pendant in her hand. Serving a traumatic reminder to a day her farther knew would come. Damien sat panting. Angry, picking at grass and glaring at that hateful thing of a child. He looked up at Estella who was creating a whirlwind of leaves and fire around her. He didn't care, not even when Altair would punish his behaviour towards her.
They were both sat down, Estella was rubbing her thumb against her dads feather pendant. She looked up her magic calming down. Silence befeld them both. Damien was still groaning at the injures he sustained, when an echoey call from the forest beckoned the child. Estella looked up curios, starting to stumble her way into the forest. Her guard did little to stop her. She kept walking, the blotches in the trees formed themselves into an etchy path. This place didn't feel normal, the plants looked too strange. Entangled roots and peeling petals, rotting stench far worst then hell. The forest got dark the further Estella went, behind her the trees closed themselves. Mist clouded her eyes. Blind, Estella tried using magic but it fizziled and flared out. She wasnt thinking, the echoey, etheriall song played over and over. The mist making it difficult to breath. Estella fell unconscious, the forest dark and voice shouting from ahead.
"Over here..."
