This was unfortunately common for companies owned by men. They'll rather sell their companies or try to have a son before giving the company to their daughters.
Asami lucked out having a father that would give her the company in a heartbeat. After all it was a woman who helped him start up his company, the woman being his wife.
"If I had a daughter, I'd give her my company, after all it's our families legacy" Riko said
"Well, that's not what goes on in our father's mind" Sasha said
"So Asami, we haven't seen you in so long" Yuu started. Which was true, last time they seen her was before her graduation. "You've grown to be quite a beautiful woman" she smiled
"She's always been beautiful" Sasha said as the bottle girl came back with their drinks
"Thank you" Asami blushed taking a sip of her cocktail
"So how's your father's company?" Riko asked
"Well, thank you for asking" Asami said
"And your father, what are his plans with the company?" Yuu asked "does he plan to sell?"
"No, he's planning on giving it to me" Asami said
"Actually?" Sasha asked
"Yes"
"He's not gonna sell it to you?" Yuu asked
"No" Asami shrugged "I've been working at the company since I was 18, at 20 he made me the COO/CFO"
"So you have your own office?" Sasha asked earning a nod "your father most trust you very much"
"Lucky you" Yuu gave her a smile
"Is there any demands?" Riko asked "like did your father ask for something?"
"He just asked me to be married"
"I knew it, too good to be true" Sasha said "his planning on giving it to your husband" she crossed her arms
"No, he's giving it to me, he just wants me to have a partner to help run the company instead of a trusting a stranger for my position as CFO" she informed
"That's reasonable" Riko said
"Why don't you two get married?" Yuu said pointing as Asami and Riko
"Huh?!" Riko blushed
"No way" Asami said
"Well you just need to marry someone to get the company, I'm sure your father needs to approve of the man, how could he say no to a businessman, you two would practically own the city" Yuu pointed out
"He'll be fine as long as I'm married" Asami raised a brow
"Yea, and I'm already interested in someone" Riko he blushed
"Y'all would've been cute" Sasha shrugged
The group enjoyed their drinks as they continued talking about their business and the future plans.
"So why do we always meet at Euphoria's?" Sasha asked
"Well, the owner is a private investor for our companies, minus well show some support in our end" Riko said
"Have you ever met her?" Yuu asked
"No, most of the time she's not in republic city, so it's hard to meet with her in person" Riko said
"Is she a new investor for you?" Asami asked
"No, it's been over 20 years actually" Riko said
"Same here" Yuu said
