Chapter 18

Bolin couldn't help but think, maybe Asami doesn't want Mako or Korra, maybe it'll be too awkward seeing that they're in the same friend group. Not only that but what would their friends think? Them meeting Asami as Mako's girlfriend, but the next time they'll see her she's Korra's.

Kai already knows what's going on, and Kai never hides anything from Jinora unless it's too personal or if the words 'don't tell anyone, not even Jinora' without those last 3 words, he's telling her everything.

That just left Iroh. But he wondered what Opal and Ginger would think seeing that their boss went from one person to another.

Bolin didn't realize how deep in thought he was till Korra got up and thanked him for the meal. "I'm off to work now" she said

"Ok be safe" he said "Also, I might be here after you get out"

"why's that?"

"Mako wanted me to go out with him later, something important" He said

"alright, just be safe" Korra said then left

After a couple of hours of work, Korra finally got her break. She had lunch in the break room with Varrick and some other co-workers

"So, how are things with Zhu Li?"

"Great!" He smiled "Actually, Steve here and Rebecca from design are going on a double date with us" Varrick patted a man's back

"You and Rebecca?" Korra was surprised

"yeah" Steve blushed "we've been dating for a year now"

"Don't you guys thinks it's unprofessional for co-workers to date?" the other guy, Sean, said "what if y'all break up, wouldn't it be awkward to still have to come to work and see them?"

"Well, I only gotta see Zhu li when clocking in" Varrick laugh "so I'm fine since I mainly work in the second building"

"Well, me and Rebecca don't plan on breaking up" Steve laughed "everything's perfect"

"Ok but what if?" Sean asked "because personality, if I fell in love with someone in the work place and we ended things, I couldn't bring myself to work"

"Well, then yeah, I'll probably look for another job or force myself to live with it" Steve said

"what about you Korra? if you were dating someone in the work place and you two broke up, would you be able to continue working here?" Varrick asked

"I don't know" Korra said, she then caught a glimpse of something in the corner of her eye, she looked seeing the break room door open getting a good view of the front desk where Zhu Li worked, there she saw Mako talking to the girl at the front desk. She then saw Asami make an appearance earning a hug from the tall man. "Yeah, I'd probably leave" she looked back down at her food

"where would you even work?" Varrick asked

"I'd probably just go back to the military or something" Korra said

After work Korra made it home, she decided to watch a show in the living room. She would look at her phone once in a blue moon to check if she got anything from Asami, but she got nothing.

"I guess she made her decision" Korra said to herself

on cue the main door open. She waited for Bolin's iconic 'honey, I'm home' but she didn't get that. "Bo?" she called for him.

Bolin made an appearance, he didn't look happy. Korra quickly sat up "Everything alright?" she asked him

"Korra, there's something we need to talk about" Bolin said "It's Asami"

"So, you got a date tonight?" Samantha asked her best friend as she finished changing clothes and sat down at her vanity to start her make up

"I do" Asami smiled

"So who is it?" Samantha asked

"it's Mako" Asami innocently smiled 

"Asami" Samantha sounded disappointed

"I know I know, it's just, with the whole situation" Asami said

"But you don't like him as much as you do Korra" Samantha said

"We'll we're going to have to make it work"

"Have you even talked to Korra about what's going on?"

"I can't"

"You can't just walk away from Korra without giving her an explanation" Samantha argued "I think you're making the wrong decision already and you're making it worse without telling Korra"

"What about Asami?" Korra asked her best friend

"She's going on a date with Mako tonight" Bolin started

"ok and?"

"Asami's picking Mako" Bolin said "I'm sorry Korra, bu-"

"you can't possibly know that" Korra started feel a certain way

"They're going to make it work" Bolin said

"Make what work? they're not perfect for each other, there's nothing there"

"Korra, they have to make it work" Bolin said "you have to walk away from this one Kor"

"what?" she couldn't believe what he was saying

"They have to make it work because..." Bolin let out a sigh and sat next to Korra and took her hand "Because Korra...Asami's pregnant"

"Mako's here, I have to go" Asami got up leaving her friend behind 

"Asami" Samantha called for her as she followed her outside "Asami, I won't be here went you come back, I'm going home tonight" she said "I over stayed here"

"Oh alright" Asami seemed disappointed

"Asami, I don't want to leave you like this" Samantha said "But don't feel like you have to be with him, I don't want you to feel trapped"

"Sam"

"You don't look at him the way you look at her, just from the mention of her name your mood changes... Asami, I'm your best friend, I know better than anyone" Samantha said "Asami, I know you love her"
